I've found the solution the app does not ask for storage permission so I forced them tru ADB and it worked , @ZenithPixel you should check if you have this set up on the AppManifest file. I hope this helps.

Some games don't have apk versions, I like having everything consolidated to one place especially since it allows me to choose the file location myself when the android data folder isn't easily accessible. Not to mention apks are usually downscaled in quality when my phone is capable of running things with a windows emulator that my gaming laptop can run. I don't like playing deep fried games that are compressed into oblivion to run through an apk for sake of it running through an apk. Why keep the install instructions on the page, implying it's supported if it's not? That's such a dismissive response for a "supported" platform for your game being broken.
Hello, yes, Joiplay is supported, but what Joiplay does is using it's own renpy version, and people tend to customize or change things. I realized this over years of supporting and helping people who use joiplay, and my answer was because lots of these players doesn't normally know the game has an APK version. I think it was a little bit dimissive, yes, I tried answering as fast as possible, but I always suggest using the APK.
The game works perfectly. The reason the game might not be working on the user's end is because the joiplay version that is running renpy and opening the game is old/new and the code of the game is not updated for that version. See it as trying to play a game from Unreal Engine 4 and trying to run it in Unreal Engine 5, just as a quick example.
Maybe I should have told the solution, that is change the renpy version, but sometimes that's not even enough, people tend to modify files, apply patches and stuff that it is really difficult to give support.
In short, the game is not broken, Joiplay works. Settings of the own joiplay are making the game broken. Or maybe something entirely different. I'm sorry for the rude response, that's my bad tbh, I don't t know why I answered that way.

If you have time, I would recommend starting again. If you don't, then your save will work perfectly. And if you can handle time very well, I would wait for 1.2.1 (The version after Chapter 1, that will come relatively fast and will have a rework of the entire start of the game)

Its only been three years thats nothing for example with manga some people wait years for it to get an adaptation hell even already established anime one of the big three took 10 years from when the animated run ended in 2012 to pick back up for thousand year blood war and if it wasnt so big do you know the chances that would have gotten a continuation id think it'd be very unlikely if it wasnt as popular as it is and wasnt recieving good sales in DVD/blu ray book sales etc... and this game is still being worked on the dev posts updates fairly often they even have a road map that they update frequently on trello so I don't see why yall so angry this dev just wants to make a very polished product id rather something turns out well and takes a long time than quickly churned out and with bad story bad graphics and very clunky and unpolished

Understandable. Still the Yanderde Dev comment was out of line on my part. Also the user I was getting into it with was right I was most likely still going to play the update regardless of what I had said because I do enjoy the scenes a bit and the story was enough to bring me back to check in for an update at least once every week or other week.
Has the author considered adding a Chinese translation for this game? Or does this game have a Chinese patch? Not having a Chinese translation is a bother for me.
I wonder if the creator paused the game or if it's something else, because it's been stuck on version 0.1.2.3 for a while now, and I don't know what to think. The folder is 12.1 GB, and for a paused or dead game, I'd rather use that space for other novels.

I have renpy 8 downloaded. That's what's giving the error. If I switch to renpy 7 it just outright crashes.
It is super important NOT only to be Renpy 8, but also Ren'Py 8.0.3.22090809.
Latest version, Ren'Py 8.5.3 is being used to make the next update, and I had to make lots of changes for it to be compatible. Renpy 8 is not enough.

Allow me to reiterate: the game is FREE. Unless you're contributing to those financials, you're pressing someone to hurry up and give you your free stuff. All the while attempting to damage their bottom line (yes, I'm sure THAT will help) by posting their financials and suggesting either incompetent management or outright grift... perhaps trying to scare off his patrons, or attempting to prevent future contributors (again, SURELY, that'll help move things along...).
That goes well beyond criticism... that's deliberately trying to trash someone's livelihood... because you don't think their working fast enough.
But go on saying you're only trying to give constructive criticism... whatever helps you sleep at night.

Three years and no update for this free game is still sad regardless of how free it is. It is also still subject to complaints or criticism. If you didn't want people to randomly come in to complain about a free game taking three years to get a single update you should make it not free. XD

I understand people asking for updates, and I also agree with them. The update should have been out a lot of time ago, but I hope they also understand why it took so long after seeing the chapter and the update, with all the new and changed stuff.
It is not that I don't want people to complain about it, it is easy for me to literally delete all complains and bad comments in this post. I can literally nuke them all if I wanted, but I won't. I will NEVER delete a bad comment, no matter if I believe they are wrong or not.
In your previous comment, I just wanted to tell you about the transparency the game development has regardless of release dates, mostly of your comparison with yanderedev. My comment was to INFORM about the transparency and where to check it, not to debate you nor argue with you, it is always that way.
At the end, it is up to you guys to decide if you still support me, if you still wait for the game to release, if you play it, etc.
I just hope that, once the update comes out, you guys can play it for free, with no compromises, and decide by yourselves.

I wasn't referring to your comment when I needed to rewrite my post. I got a little to into an argument with another user that I eventually saw we weren't really getting anywhere and I was devolving into a drama queen attention seeker.
Understandable. Still the Yanderde Dev comment was out of line on my part. Also the user I was getting into it with was right I was most likely still going to play the update regardless of what I had said because I do enjoy the scenes a bit and the story was enough to bring me back to check in for an update at least once every week or other week.

I wonder if the creator paused the game or if it's something else, because it's been stuck on version 0.1.2.3 for a while now, and I don't know what to think. The folder is 12.1 GB, and for a paused or dead game, I'd rather use that space for other novels.
The dev posted a Devlog 40 days ago updating on the progress so I'd say it's not paused or dead.
