Summary
Norway’s annual El Prix winter EV test assesses real-world electric vehicle range and charging performance in extreme cold (down to –27 °C), under conditions comparable to those in Canadian winters.
Chinese electric vehicles performed strongly, ranking among the top ten models for cold-weather efficiency and fast charging due to improved battery preconditioning and thermal management.
Results challenge assumptions about Chinese EVs, showing rapid gains in build quality and winter reliability, while leaving long-term ownership experience as the remaining open question
China has some cold areas with climates similar to many Canadian cities so I would expect fairly good results. Unlike my friends Tesla where cruise control wouldn’t work in winter because it relied on cameras that would get snow covered (obviously designed and treated in sunny California).
I wanna see full self driving go from Calgary to Saskatoon in minus 35 with blowing snow and blizzard conditions

They could go to Alaska to test it. Chinese cars were made in the sunny southern parts.
I don’t know the brand but this Chinese car maker brought US car youtubers to Alaska to test drive cars.
I drove the cheap Chinese cars that are illegal in the USA. Now I know why - Rich Rebuilds
