Removed Comment Perfectly, but the post read as if they had discovered a new fast charging hack by freezing the batteries. Which made it seem quite silly. by stoy@lemmy.zip

Removed Comment It's clearly slower to charge when battery is cold. They had 20% to 97% take 12 minutes, while in normal conditions to took 9 minutes to charge from 10% to 97%. Also notice that they actually bending the numbers a bit to make them look better, they started with 20% in winter and started with 10% normal weather. So no, freezing does not give you an advantage when charging. by takeda@lemmy.dbzer0.com

Removed Comment Storing batteries for 24 hours in -30C was to replicate a harsh winter time. It isn't necessary for charging. by takeda@lemmy.dbzer0.com

Removed Comment No… dude… they are saying at normal temperatures it fast charges from 10-97% in 9 minutes. The frozen bit was them showing even completely frozen the fast charging still works in an acceptable amount of time. (12m, only a 33% increase in charge time) by TowardsTheFuture@lemmy.zip

Removed Comment If this is some sort of joke I am confused why. Idk if you can’t ready but weirdly you don’t need to store the car in a -30c freezer for 24 before charging it every time. It was 12m from frozen, down from the normal 9m when not frozen, showing it being cold does not destroy charging performance (though that is 133% of the normal time) by TowardsTheFuture@lemmy.zip

Removed Comment No joke, that is exactly what they did according to the post. They stored the batteries in minus -30c for 24h and charged them for 12 min. The post made it seem like that was supposed to be a miracle hack to fast charging. by stoy@lemmy.zip

Removed Comment That’s an interesting discussion about France’s economic challenges and the idea of a Debt Jubilee. It reminds me of how financial or academic pressure often leads people to seek outside help for balance. In the same way, governments need solutions to manage their debts, students sometimes look to [hire someone to do my homework]("https://www.theresearchguardian.com/do-my-homework-for-me/") to manage their workload and reduce stress. Both situations show how support can make a big difference during tough times. by olivianaylor@futurology.todayBanned

Removed Comment The US’s decision to stop funding mRNA research could have serious consequences. The global competition in biotech is fierce, and losing ground means more dependence on others. This is why scientific investment is crucial — the cost of prevention is far less than dealing with a full-blown pandemic. Switching gears for a moment — on a lighter note, playing fast-paced games like [Geometry Dash Lite](https://geometrydashlite2.io/) can be a fun distraction. by ankyshor@futurology.todayBanneddeleted by creator
