NC MedAssist is on a mission to dispense hope through improved health. As North Carolina’s only statewide nonprofit pharmacy, NC MedAssist provides prescription medication at no cost to uninsured NC residents falling at or below 300% of the federal poverty level. NCMA provides over-the-counter medicine to all residents through its OTC Free Store and at over 40 Mobile Free Pharmacy events throughout the state annually. Last year, NC MedAssist served 67,104 North Carolinians and distributed $61.6 million in prescription and over-the-counter medication, helping save North Carolina approximately $98 million in uncompensated healthcare costs. NC MedAssist | 1,600 followers on LinkedIn. Dispensing opportunities through improved health. | NC MedAssist is committed to helping low-income, uninsured North Carolina residents receive FREE life-saving prescription medication by operating a licensed pharmacy as well as providing Mobile Free Pharmacy events in counties all over the state, distributing approx. $100,000 in over-the-counter medications at each event. We partner with local community colleges, hospitals, social services, the health department and other local organizations to provide health care advocacy, educational services as well as health care checks at each event (i.e diabetic checks/education). Our overall goal is to improve the health of not only our Free Pharmacy patients, but all NC residents who attend our events, by enabling them to obtain life-saving prescription medications for chronic illnesses like diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, asthma as well as critical OTCs.
