Fill out this form to apply for the NYC-DSA Racial Justice Working Group Organizing Committee. Submissions are due Saturday, Feb 21 at 11:59PM. You must be an NYC-DSA member in good standing to qualify. Responsibilities of the RJWG OC include but are not limited to: - organizing general meetings and other events - sending out regular newsletters - liaising with other NYC-DSA bodies and other orgs on racial justice, anti-carceral, and abolitionist matters - organizing new campaigns and initiatives or organizing WG participation in existing ones - managing communication platforms - conducting internal OC meetings - onboarding new WG members The time commitment for this role will generally be 2-5 hrs/wk and should be seriously considered before expressing interest. Capacity and accountability to the work are requirements. Note: At least 50% of the OC should be BIPOC and at least 50% of the OC should not be cis-men. Talk about passing the CURB Act and disbanding the SRG (New York City Police Department Strategic Response Group)! Future projects and actions. All are welcome! You do not need to be a DSA member to attend, though we ask that you RSVP so we know who to expect and how many. This month’s meeting will be virtual-only via Zoom.
