Indigenous Artisan Shauna White Bear is the founder of White Bear Moccasins, based in Bozeman MT. Shauna White Bear, of www.whitebearmoccasins.com, is an indigenous plains woman, registered with the MHA Nation (Arikara/Hidatsa) who is a self taught moccasin maker. Fabricated with traditional craftsWomanship & contemporary flair. Shauna bridges design from the old ways to modern everyday wearable styles. Each moccasin is customized and fit to the wearer, then accented with elkteeth &beadwork. Shauna's work has been featured in: Cowboys & Indian’s Magazine, as part of the B. Yellowtail “The Collective", in the Wall Street Journal, Huffington Post, and the LA Times. She was listed in Cosmopolitan Magazine and In Style Magazine, as an "indigenous woman to watch" in upcoming fashion. Shauna hires indigenous women to help cut and hand stitch each pair of mocs.
