Names matter. They acknowledge presence, identity, and possibility. When individuals with Down syndrome are known-truly known-they are included. And when they are included, we all thrive. Because inclusion is not just good for some of us, it makes all of us better. When Landon, Paige, Mills, and John Marshall are recognized for who they are, not just their needs, the world doesn't just open up - It grows stronger and more compassionate. These are the individuals and families across Alabama who rely on the connection, advocacy, and education made possible through Down Syndrome Alabama. Each year on March 21 (3.21), the world celebrates World Down Syndrome Day-a date chosen to represent the three copies of the 2lst chromosome that define Down syndrome. For Down Syndrome Alabama, March marks our primary annual appeal, supporting families and programs across our state all year long. On 3.21, you can turn recognition into real opportunity.
