We are a coalition of young media workers in Toronto, Canada — editors, directors, critics, scholars, and more — organizing for a free Palestine. As film students, we are constantly taught the consequences of sedentary spectatorship. Over the past few years, however, these dangers have transformed from theory into reality; Palestinians are genocided while much of the western world prefers to avert its gaze. We refuse to let eyes wander from the Middle East. As the next generation of film workers, we join Film Workers for Palestine in calling for an end to artwashing in film spaces, and for a proliferation in anti-colonial cultural output.
