About Me
Ethiopia is a versatile Brooklyn-based artist whose music seamlessly blends reggae, rock, and punk with elements of rap, hip-hop, and pop. Raised in a rich African-Caribbean cultural environment, she developed a profound connection to reggae music from an early age, deeply influenced by the sounds of dub, ska, and classic reggae from the 1950s through the 1980s.
A lifelong musician, Ethiopia began her musical journey as a percussionist at just 2 years old and wrote her first song by age 4. Her vocal style is distinctive and adaptable, ranging from smooth melodic passages to rhythmic spoken word and rap-infused deliveries, reflecting her broad musical influences and dynamic creativity. Her latest EP, Burnt Face, highlights this fusion of genres and vocal versatility, paying homage to her reggae roots while pushing into contemporary sounds. Ethiopia continues to develop her unique voice in today's music scene, honoring tradition while exploring new artistic directions.
