WLMA promotes, develops, and encourages opportunities for women in the Indiana aggregates industry.  The committee promotes the aggregates industry to girls and women searching for jobs or career paths, and raises awareness of the various opportunities within the industry. They develop women currently in the aggregates industry in an effort to provide the tools and foundation for career advancement. The committee also encourages decision makers to support the promotion and development of women in the aggregates industry.  If you are passionate about creating diversity and raising awareness for future industry leaders, this is the committee for you!

Joining the Technical Committee gives you a chance to influence industry practices, collaborate with key organizations, and be part of the ongoing evolution of technical standards.

The Technical Committee works with INDOT on CAPP issues and other specification concerns to benefit IMAA members. You’ll have the opportunity to influence INDOT specifications and CAPP issues, ensuring they benefit IMAA members and the broader industry.

By joining, you’ll engage in proactive discussions with INDOT through small group sessions, allowing you to directly address critical issues and drive meaningful change.

As part of the committee, you’ll contribute to the development of industry specifications and standards, helping to shape the future of aggregate operations in the state.

Technical Committee

The Safety Committee looks for opportunities to promote safety in the workplace. They continue to be involved in the licensing, training and education pieces of the law. They have also worked closely with the Legislative Committee on the annual Washington D.C. Fly-in, bringing industry concerns to the Mine Safety and Health Administration and Indiana representatives in Washington. 
The Safety Committee shares a wealth of industry knowledge and experience every time they meet, and is a space where members can share MSHA trends. Safety isn't proprietary, and every IMAA member can benefit from the lessons learned and shared during Safety Committee meetings.

ACTIVELY RECRUITING NEW VOLUNTEERS!

The PIE Committee promotes the aggregate industry to the public through a number of activities. 
They do everything from conducting small workshop sessions for schools, teachers, scout leaders, soil & water conservation personnel, etc. to organizing and instructing the BLAST Institute and participating in large career education events like the Junior Achievement Job Spark. Each year, the PIE Committee hosts a fundraiser golf outing to support their outreach activities. 

You can choose to sit on the PIE Committee and help with the organization and planning of outreach activities and program, or you can become a PIE Committee Volunteer. PIE Committee Volunteers help out during outreach events and are given specific tasks to perform. If you like telling people about our industry and what you do for a living, this is the perfect role for you!

Core Committees - Always Open

The Professional Development Committee promotes professional development among both the Producer and Associate members.  They organize a training track during the annual Winter Workshops and Trade Show targeted to sales professionals.  They also strive to provide a positive networking atmosphere, hosting networking events that bring members together for a shared experience.

Joining the committee provides the opportunity to influence industry development, expand your network, and help others grow professionally.

Your involvement allows you to play a key role in shaping the committee’s activities and events, helping to improve the professional development of both Producer and Associate members.

Professional Development Committee

The Plant Operator Training committee conducts workshops and training seminars that help provide additional skills for employees at aggregate operations. They have been proactive in the annual Operations Seminar that is held in conjunction with the IMAA Winter Workshops. These seminars have rotated between “equipment knowledge” type sessions to “employee relations” sessions that are appropriate for all manager levels. Breakout sessions at the Winter Workshops have provided additional time for this committee to reach employees at all levels.
Joining the committee offers the chance to impact employee development, stay ahead of industry trends, and be a leader in advancing skills within the aggregates sector.
You’ll play a key role in providing valuable training opportunities that help employees at aggregate operations gain essential skills, improving the overall efficiency and safety of the industry.

Plant Operators Committee

The Legislative Committee conducts constant reviews of pending legislation that might positively or negatively impact the aggregates industry. The committee works to push legislation that would benefit the aggregates industry in Indiana at both the state and national levels. Increasing gas taxes, INDOT funding, city/county funding, lien laws, zoning, etc., are constant issues that the committee addresses. This committee meets 2-3 times per year on average.
Joining the committee allows you to directly shape legislation that impacts the aggregates industry, advocating for policies that benefit your business and the sector as a whole.
You’ll have a front-row seat to important issues such as gas taxes, funding, zoning, and lien laws, helping you stay informed and involved in addressing these ongoing challenges.
As part of the committee, you’ll participate in the annual Washington DC Fly-In, engaging with legislators and industry leaders to advance the interests of the aggregates industry.

Legislative Committee

The IMAA Environmental Committee constantly keeps an eye on environmental rules and regulations that might affect the industry. They have spearheaded projects to provide compliance manuals for members and have worked with IDEM to combine overlapping rules that affect production sites. The Environmental Committee primarily shares information amongst members as everyone can benefit for the knowledge and wealth of experience around the table. This committee meets 3-4 times per year on average.

Being part of the Environmental Committee allows you to stay ahead of regulatory changes, access resources for compliance, and contribute to shaping the industry’s environmental practices.

Does your location produce and sell Aglime? If they answer is yes, the Aglime Council is for you.

The Indiana Aglime Council promotes the use of Aglime among farmers in Indiana and surrounding states through advertising, social media, direct mail, and farm shows.
The Council provides unbiased, reliable test results on the quality of Aglime produced by its member companies.

The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) advises actions to the Environmental Stewardship Council (ESC) Board. They develop reasonable technical guidelines for responsible reclamation and beautification of aggregate extraction sites and support other technical activities of the ESC Board.

The TAC is perfect spot for Land Managers, Environmental Managers, Mining Engineers, or others with a passion for reclamation. TAC members have a direct path to sitting on the Environmental Stewardship Council Board.
