The New England Foundation for the Arts operates the Center Stage cultural diplomacy program, coordinating multi-city performance tours and residencies for international artists across the United States since 2012. NEFA has facilitated U.S. visits for more than 300 performers representing 37 countries through this U.S. Department of State partnership. The program emphasizes sustained community engagement through extended artist residencies in host cities. NEFA's National Dance Project assembles advisory panels of dance professionals to shape artistic development and cultural leadership initiatives. These panels provide guidance for dance practitioners working in diverse geographic contexts throughout the United States. The program structure enables knowledge exchange between established dance leaders and emerging artists. The organization's Public Art Department implements regional programming throughout New England while developing long-term strategic frameworks. Current initiatives focus on gathering input from artists, cultural workers, and community stakeholders. This collaborative process will inform NEFA's upcoming five-year strategic plan for public art across the region.
