Working Groups: Defending Democracy and the Rule of Law - People's Parity Project
A constitutional crisis. An attack on the rule of law. Ascendant authoritarianism. However you want to describe this moment, it is clear that American democracy is under threat. Lawyers will be critical to both stopping this assault and building forward to a truly inclusive, multiracial democracy. Unfortunately, the events of recent weeks make clear that getting the legal profession to stand strong in defense of democracy and the rule of law is going to be an uphill task. It will require coordinated organizing efforts by both law students and lawyers to use every point of leverage possible to ensure our colleagues and legal institutions rise up to meet the moment. The People’s Parity Project is organizing working groups of law students and lawyers who are committed to ensuring our profession is on the right side of history.
