Early 20th Century Double-Sided Quilted Irish Coverlet. - | Chairish
Made in Ireland, this is a blanket-weight coverlet with contrasting color ways of a paisley on either side. From the family of Angela Reed Hinchey of Rutland, VT. The Hinchey ancestors were from Bodyke, County Clare, Ireland, and immigrated to Vermont in the 1850s. But we think the coverlet may be from the turn of the century. Deirdre’s Bio: This comes from the archives of Deirdre Coughlin, founder of Phoebe’s Closet. She specializes in antique textiles and sold them to many New York City Designers including Ralph Lauren (that’s how I know her,) Charlotte Moss, Martha Stewart, and Schumacher, among many others.
