CMTA Attends BetterTransitNow Rally - Central Maryland Transportation Alliance
CMTA attended the Better Transit Now rally in Annapolis at Lawyer’s Mall on Feb. 2. We came out to support MTA's BmoreBUS plan and asked Governor Wes Moore to make it a priority. We were proud to support the #BetterTransitNow rally, which was organized by several of our #Transportation101 alumni. This year, we were able to pay for the buses to transport dozens of advocates to Annapolis from 3 locations in Baltimore City. We were joined by Kwane Wyatt of Fund for Educational Excellence, who helped MC the rally and organize student transit riders. We were also joined by members of the @No Boundaries Coalition, student advocates from schools all over the city who spoke at the rally. Members of Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) 1300, and numerous graduates of our Transportation101 advocacy course also attended. Baltimore City Council President Zeke Cohen, state delegates Delegate Robbyn Lewis, and Delegate Mark Edelson, Delegate Stephanie Smith, and Elizabeth Embry spoke at the rally.
