Victim Support Europe was founded in 1990. Today it is the umbrella network for national victim support organisations in Europe with 60 Members from 30 countries, who provide assistance to around 2 million people affected by crime and disasters each year. VSE has worked over the last 30 years to strengthen the rights of victims across Europe and to ensure victims are treated with dignity and respect and that their needs are met. The organisation works to ensure that every victim in Europe, wherever they are: • is treated with respect and dignity; • is able to access information they need; • is able to access support services; • is able to make their voice heard throughout the criminal justice process; • has access to strong rights; • receives the compensation they deserve.
