YOU COULDN’T MAKE IT UP

From The Times

  • GB News suggests that government grants should not be automatically allocated solely to the BBC.
  • The channel argues that other companies delivering public service media outputs should be able to bid for funding through a competitive tender process.
  • Proposals could be assessed based on criteria like quality, public value, audience impact, and cost-effectiveness to promote innovation and diversity.
  • GB News reported cumulative losses of over £100 million since its launch in 2021.

But doesn’t GB News claim to be an entertainment channel as opposed to a news channel, y’know despite the word “news” bring a part of its name?

And while we are on the subject, does it know that GB is only the main island in the British Isles?

RANDOM THOUGHTS

But what about the ferries?

You may well scratch your head

But we can bring down poverty

And the Tories were at it too…

Just because he will be able to afford the very best…

Don’t let’s lose what we have got

I’M SURE IT WAS A SLIP OF THE TONGUE…

But you need to be more careful, Starmer.

I grew up in England and I know that it is very easy for the English to conflate England and Britain.

But when you are the Prime Minister, maybe you should make a bit of an effort to remember that, at least for the time being, you are the prime minister of Scotland, Wales and the northern counties of Ireland… as well as your beloved England.

Do better.

SOPPY SUNDAY

Just having breakfast before the start of the shift.

2. On guard here to make sure only “nice” birds use this box.

3. Hmmm, how did I get here?

4. They are building maternity units for us now…

5. Almost unbelievable that the upper classes would get pleasure from seeing these beautiful animals torn apart. Can’t help thinking that the French got it right.

6. Hello fish. I’m a dog.

7. I love that there are so many stories of Australians caring about wildlife.

8. At Stewart’s restaurant…table d’hôte.

9. What can you say?

10. Can I have a coffee and a slice of that apple cake? Just put it on Munguin’s bill.

11. Well, it is true.

12. We are Mexican Red Cross dogs coming back from saving peoples and somehow we’ve been left to fly tourist class. I wonder when luncheon will be served.

13. I think I’m pretty cute. What do you think?

14. Two’s company; six is just a nonsense.

15. You might get the impression that all we ever do it eat at Munguin Towers. But it isn’t true, although Munguin makes us work VERY hard so we do need to top up the energy from time to time.

Thanks to Stewart and Quokka.
