Our Noosa Biosphere: Our shared responsibility.
It's up to all of us to Live Like You Love It, here in Noosa.
Every day, the decisions we make impact the natural systems that support us. Natural systems are resilient, but they all have natural limits. When you Live Like You Love It, people and nature can thrive.
Whether you live, work or visit the Noosa Biosphere, it’s our shared responsibility to care for—and live within—our natural limits. It’s our biosphere.

Discover what’s to love about the Noosa Biosphere
The Noosa Biosphere Reserve is an immersed life: where community and conservation are celebrated and carefully managed. Human activity and the natural world exist side-by-side.
Our UNESCO biosphere region is a natural living laboratory. As a community, we’re leading innovation, tackling challenges, and finding solutions for the future – for every living thing.
There’s so many ways to Live Like You Love It!
From the energy we use and how we use it, how we move about, where we source our food from, to how we treat our land. These actions create ripple effects that impact the natural limits of the systems on which we depend.
If we want the Noosa that we love today—clean air and water, healthy waterways and forests—to be in better condition in the future, we need to work together to care for them.
Love your energy and transport
Love caring for our environment
Love your waste and recycling

Worlds collide inside the Noosa Biosphere Reserve
There’s more to love about Noosa than what meets the eye.
Geographic location: MacPherson-Macleay Overlap
The Noosa region is part of an area called the MacPherson-Macleay Overlap, where a diverse range of plants and animals meet. Here lies the southern limit of subtropical species, the northern limit of temperate species, and the eastern limit of many inland species. This rare meeting point nurtures what many of the locals call paradise – an area of high species richness and habitat diversity.
An Immersed Life
Here in the Noosa Biosphere Reserve, community and conservation is celebrated and carefully managed. This is a place where people, nature and knowledge coexist. Where daily life is shaped by care for place, connection to community and respect for our natural limits.

For nearly 20 years, our UNESCO biosphere reserve status has been a sanctuary of hope.
Since 2007, the Noosa Biosphere Reserve has been a place where conservation, sustainable development and learning are at the heart. In 2027, we will seek UNESCO endorsement to continue our biosphere reserve designation for the next decade.
Together, we’re building a future we can be proud of. A future that meets the needs of today, without compromising the needs of future generations. A future that conserves our rich biodiversity. A future we’re committed to.
Because, it’s our Noosa Biosphere.
So, how can you care for what you’re a part of?
