I was thinking that since most people here left Reddit for whatever reason - despite it being inconvenient - then having strong principles and actually sticking to them might be a common theme among the userbase here.

With all the hate towards J.K Rowling (deserved) and lets say Kanye West for example, you can enjoy the art but can you really separate what they create from what they say?

What is it like being an alumni of a school that’s underfunded or neglected? Even if the school is “good” (as in well funded or private), does the learning environment reflect that? Also, the dark side of American schools (shootings) dampens peace of mind for parents since at any given moment some gun wielding individual can storm in murdering those inside (students, teachers, custodians, etc.)

AI facial scan technology keeps saying she looks 15 but I’ve known her for a long time, when she was 21 she looked 12ish. When she was 18 she looked about 10. She says her hormones were checked when she was 24 and they were normal, she says she only looks young because she has big eyes and a small nose. Starting about 2 years ago her face started getting acne, and any treatments just made it worse. the only thing that helped was antibiotics. it isn’t just one or two spots, she says she’s getting up to a dozen new spots at once and parts of her face are constantly sore. So I have two turtles, a female eastern box turtle named Morticia and a male ornamental box turtle named Digger. Both are heathly weight, neither are exibiting signs of illness, and I custom built their enclosure to fit their range and environmental needs with the temp ranging from 70° to 80° f and humidity of between 70% and 90%. They have a pool that I refill, heat lamp, UVB lamp, variable terrain, rocks to climb, plants (for Digger to murder), spagnum moss, and gravel, coconut husk, and soil to dig in, as well as outside time when weather permits it. All of this is to say, I’ve done my research and I’m pretty well versed on the care.

I store all of my passwords in firefox’s built-in password manager. They auto-fill into websites, sync to my phone, notify me if one appears publicly, and I can generate strong new passwords conveniently. The pw vault is stored encrypted in the cloud as far as I know, but I don’t really know the technical details. I presume that it’s just as secure as using a “proper” manager.

The worst movie directed by Alfred Hitchcock was “Juno & the Paycock” (1930) since most of it takes place within a single setting plus the story’s pacing is slow as fuck (not until the end that the plot evolves). I mean, have you recieved a summons (letter) either from your municpality or another in which you’re selected to be a juror. You show up to the courts and assigned a number along with being asked about occupation, status, etc. but is the probability even that high on becoming part of the 12 jurors? Is it a criminal offense for failing to appear?

This is a genuine question, because one of the reasons I left Christianity (I was raised Christian) was that I didn’t like how they hate gay people, are pro-life, etc., and overall are pretty hypocritical. But as I got older, I realized there are Catholics who are pro-choice, aren’t homophobic, and don’t have an issue with having sex before marriage, etc., and basically are not stereotypical religious people at all. But I have to ask—how do they justify this? I mean, it must be very confusing, because if the Bible does say being gay is a sin and you are not homophobic and are pro-LGBTQ+, then you are basically saying sinning is okay, which goes against their very religion. How about Catholics who swear? Basically, how do liberal Christians/Catholics justify their religion? Why be religious if you aren’t going to go all in?

Far too much food is just binned if somebody is too full, needs to leave early, or similar, and if food wasn’t wasted, there would not be nearly as large of a hunger crisis. Encouraging the reduction of food waste is great, but I’m wondering whether the inevitable food waste could be collected in special bins and be reprocessed into a mixture of various foods, a bit like recycled plastic almost. This obviously could be bad for those with allergies, and there’s no clear expiry date for such a mixed assortment of food. There is also the trouble of people throwing in non food items, like tissues and plastic wrapping. This is already a big problem in recycling!
