RebeccaETripp has another collaboration lined up with Gamer of the Winds! How apropos that they take on Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom's "Wind Temple" yet how surprising we find that the temperature has dropped considerably? Whether intentional or not, this piece fits perfectly for Christmas Eve night as a backdrop for the big guy working tirelessly yet magically to make those all-important deliveries. Tripp explains how she and Gamer of the Winds serendipitously approached each other with the same source tune in mind:

"This is my arrangement of the "Wind Temple" theme from Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The original TotK track was composed by Masato Ohashi. It contains both Phase 1 and Phase 2, but mostly focuses on the first phase. Phase 2 is heard more toward the end, but the arrangement is primarily an exploration of Phase 1. The piccolo and flute parts were performed by Gamer of the Winds! Greg is one of the most amazing wind players I've met! Please check out his channel! He is wonderful: https://youtube.com/c/gamerofthewinds.

This was his favourite track in TotK as well as mine, and we had both independently planned to reach out to each other about a collaboration, which was both funny and delightful! We already covered this theme in our Zelda Sky Themes medley, but we agreed that it deserved to have its own track, and that some phrases from Phase 2 should be added at the end. I think this piece really showcases Greg's performance style. His performance and my writing have always been highly synergistic, since we both love organic textures, and moods that shift between mystery, awe, reverence, and hope.

The original had a different purpose. It works much better as a "Zelda dungeon track", whereas this works as a meditation aid, compliment to the game experience, or standalone art piece. The Silent Realm in Skyward Sword is absolutely what inspired it! Those songs very directly inspired this arrangement! :) I'm actually planning to do covers of all of those themes! ^_^"

I'm confident that Zelda series lover Chimpazilla would welcome more covers by Rebecca and GotW in this vein, as she quickly complimented the frosty atmosphere crafted by the pair:

"The arrangement is sparse and lonely... and COLD.... oh so beautifully cold. Gamer of the Winds has done an excellent job with the winds here, and the arrangement flows very well, it's very immersive. [...] this is a beautiful and meditative track full of feels."

We just had Lucas & Andrew offer what felt to me like skulking music for Santa, and now I can't help but feeling like Rebecca & Greg have provided some extremely contemplative working music (& foley) for Santa & his sleigh! It sounds like nighttime deliveries in frigid, windy, and snowstormy environs, does it not? A two-millimeter shift from the mystical mood of the original "Wind Temple" has resulted in an isolated, frozen soundscape that's absolutely perfect for a winter wonderland. :-) Ho ho ho!
