Epic musicianship and composition. Post metal, and post-industrial decay
Leave Tool in a Sun-baked chemical slurry for a thousand years, they return from the sludge as droids with instruments of steel and rust. gnife_gnostic
From Copenhagen comes this widescreen LP that veers ever so slightly toward prog and post-rock in its knotty time signatures. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 10, 2025
I don’t listen to much instrumental post-rock/post-metal these days, but I’ll always have a place in my library for Pelican. While this may not live up to the grandeur of The Fire in Our Throats Will Beckon the Thaw (nothing does - it’s their masterpiece, an absolute perfect record), this is still a really terrific album. It has the sound of summer evenings, driving on the highway in search of something, anything, to ignite a spark in our lives. Pelican is ultimately that spark. Well done, boys! Harold N’Hiver
