Its more a general observation that the farther people are removed from the mainstream the more radical they are... and the bigger the cookoo factor gets. The funny thing is, that back in Usenet days you had still pretty cranky people, but - as least as far as i remember - not THAT cranky....

but also mastodon is a pretty funny place, atleast on reddit and twitter are more normis. so i get why they left xD
The people on mastodon have been some of the nicest I’ve met on the internet.
