Finally Got My Ears Pierced

I’ve been wearing cuffs for a while, but I finally got around to piercings this afternoon. Got both lobes and the conch on one side done so far. Have to wait for the conch to heal before getting the other side done, so I don’t sleep on it and mess up the angle before it heals. The pain was minimal, even less than I expected, since it was a pro that did it, and the soreness so far is much less than the soreness after wearing cuffs for a few hours, so I’m super excited for it all to heal so I can wear more interesting earnings.

Community iconc/asklemmy@lemmy.world by

All the piracy subs I can find are dead, quiet, or too niche. I’d love to be part of an effort to bring reliable and maintained information about how to safely pirate to lemmy. It’s actually one of the most frustrating things about switching from reddit. Are we puritanical here or something? If we had active piracy scenes I pretty much wouldn’t have to be on reddit at all anymore.

Chartreuse (liqueur) - Wikipedia

TIL the color "chartreuse" is named after a liqueur (en.wikipedia.org)

Community iconc/til@lemmy.world by
orlyowl@piefed.ca

Chartreuse (US: /ʃɑːrˈtruːz, -ˈtruːs/ ⓘ, UK: /-ˈtrɜːz/, French: [ʃaʁtʁøz]) is a French herbal liqueur that has been made by Carthusian monks since 1737, reportedly according to instructions set out in a manuscript given to them by François Annibal d’Estrées in 1605.[1] It was named after the monks’ Grande Chartreuse monastery, located in the Chartreuse Mountains north of Grenoble, France. Today the liqueur is produced in their distillery in nearby Aiguenoire. It is composed of distilled alcohol aged with 130 herbs, plants and flowers, and sweetened, though the exact recipe is known only to select monks. The color chartreuse takes its name from the drink.
