UPDATE: The malfunction seems to have been corrected! Thank you so much! First off- I’ve loved this app. However, a few days ago the app had an update. The “rewards” system appearance has changed, and although I can’t tell if there’s a difference in how many rewards we get, the system isn’t working. Let me explain- some of the ads now have a required interaction- ad for 10s, press next, ad for 10s, press next, ad for 10s, press next, ad for 10s, press done, and then you get the reward coins. The problem with this is that this particular type of ad is causing my phone to overheat and the app closes out (usually as the last ad is playing), causing me to have to start the ad over for my reward coins. Not only is it taking twice as long to obtain reward coins, but the overheating of my phone can’t be a good thing, plus I’ve noticed the battery draining drastically increase. In addition, the app has started to randomly close during a short video. After 4 days of this, I’m almost ready to be done altogether. My phone is brand new, so I know it isn’t the phone, and all of this started on the day that my update for this app was run. Without this issue, or with the correction of this issue, I would gladly raise my stars review to 5-stars.

I totally understand that the creators of this app need to make money by either showing ads or having a person spend their money on the app to be able to watch an entire video without the ads. I get it. But what I don’t understand is only the 30 second clips then the ad then another 30 second clip and then more ads. On top of that, you can only watch about 5 30 second clips per day basically and have to wait until the next day to watch another 5 30 second clips to see what happens. Surely you can make enough money with the ads to let people see the whole short movie in one day. I wouldn’t care about the ads at all if I could watch the entire movie(or whatever they call it) in one sitting. But nope you have to go through all the bulls**t just to have to wait for 24 hours to go through more bulls**t. After I am finally done watching the short movie I’m already watching(because I’m already invested in it and I want to see what happens) I will be deleting this app unless the creators decide to make changes to it and deal with people just watching the ads and them getting revenue from that. I’ll bet all of the 4-5 star ratings are from people that work for this app/company and that the reviews are as well. There’s got to be a better app that has the same type of content as this one and won’t make someone watch 5 30 second clips a day and make you wait for 24 hours to be able to watch another 5 30 second clip. *Thinking to myself * I wonder if they’ll delete this review?

Although the stories are great its hardly worth watching 20 ads a day to only watch 10 mins worth of your show, you get 5 free episodes a day, then 5 more “Free” episodes where you will watch ads then you have to use coins. They have many ways to get coins like daily login, watching more ads, and daily tasks BUT you only get about 200 coins from doing it all, unless you agree to download another app from reelshort. Also the episodes are not consistent coin prices, one episode may be 52 coins when the next is 72! With the little amount of coins your given you can understand how that would be frustrating. To be honest Im kinda used to the whole “watch ads get more” spiel and I really don’t mind it, but when you want me to download other apps that could be scammy for more coins thats when the issue arises. I had saw this app on tiktok and decided to try it they showed 10 + mins of the movie I was watching on tiktok for Free, then the app made me watch ads and get coins just to get back to the place the ad stops at even though I had already watched all episodes. Keep in mind for the “popular” stories the episodes are only about 1 min long. I will be deleting this app after I finish the story I started.I hope this review brings other people some insight on how this app is run, if you are here from an ad where ever that may be.

Normally I do not leave reviews especially negative ones. These shorts are really entertaining and I ultimately enjoy watching them. However, I am very disappointed and upset that each “short” takes up a various amount of your coins. I started out watching every ad to get my coins for the day which landed me just over 230 coins. So I was a bit excited to watch more of the series I have been trying to get through. I figured that I would be able to watch at least 4 to 5 shorts (5 minutes or so of the series for the day) but I didn’t even get that. I was able to watch two which were less then a minute long. Afterwards it says I do not have enough coins. I would give this app a 5 star review if it wasn’t for the fact that somehow the price for each short adjusts based on how many coins you have. On top of that you cannot see the price of how much each episode costs until you are out of coins. Yesterday, the next episode said it was 58 coins. Today I had over 230 coins and was only able to watch two episodes? In other words one episode cost 58 coins and the next one took the rest. It seems like a major scam to get people to really fork out the money for the game without realizing what is going on. If the company fixes the issues then I will come back and update my review. If not my review will stay. Thank you for reading. Again this is not something I do in fact this is the first review I have ever done but I would hate to see people get scammed.
