'Start Making Sense' is an exclusive compilation album in which nearly 60 Belgian artists donated one song to raise money for HOPE Foundation. A charity that works with artists and teachers to help children suffering from the effects of the devastating genocide in Gaza.

The album is a combination of new songs, reworked versions of existing music, live recordings, memo's and demos, donated specifically for this fundraiser album.

All proceeds will go in full and directly to HOPE Foundation and their Cultural Emergency Fund. Besides the usual psychosocial and artistic projects, this fund is also used for humanitarian aid such as food, water, clothing and hygiene. (e.g. Building ovens in camps,...) HOPE Foundation aims to enable children in conflict areas to build a meaningful life for themselves.

The artwork was donated by Ramy Moharam Fouad, the graphic design by Lise Leën and the promo by Gelezen en Goedgekeurd and Les Fabuleux.

'We are constantly flooded with the horrors that are taking place and this causes an enormous powerlessness, the flow of violence makes me look away and numb me. How can I as a human being relate to this? How can I as an artist create, and be engaged in self promo while the world is on fire? Why doesn't our politics/the world call a stop to this?' Start Making Sense offers no answers to any of these questions but is a creative, collective action to draw lasting attention to the hopeless situation without becoming cynical.

According to De Standaard, there have already been at least 44,805 deaths, including 17,492 children! In addition, more than 106,257 people have been injured and at least 11,000 are missing.

Start making sense! Stop this genocide! Ceasefire now!
