I had a smiliar problem connecting over Modbus RTU. In my case it always started reading one register lower than the address I specified. So in you're case it's maybe also not a wrong tooltip but the tool just reading from address 0 when you ask for address 1?
In my case it was visible in the bus monitor that the request asks for an address just 1 below the address I entered.
I was actually browsing here to find out if this is a known issue or if it is a feature I don't understand yet. Does anyone know?
