About Apple Podcasts

Discover free audio stories that entertain, inform, and inspire in Apple Podcasts. Use the Apple Podcasts app on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch with the latest version of iOS or iPadOS, on your Mac with macOS, or on your Apple TV. When you play episodes in Apple Podcasts on your iOS or iPadOS device, a player appears at the bottom of the screen. Tap the player to open the Now Playing screen, which shows all the playback controls. In the Apple Podcasts app on your Mac, the playback controls are at the top of the window. To see Now Playing on Apple TV, open Apple Podcasts, then swipe down on your Siri Remote or Apple TV Remote. Now Playing appears in the top menu bar. Apple also offers Apple Podcasts Subscriptions, a global marketplace for listeners to discover premium subscriptions offered by their favorite creators alongside millions of free shows on Apple Podcasts.

    Pros: Creators can make money straight from Apple Podcasts, which is unique and a great situation for those who have podcasts on the app.

    Cons: In order to have "access" to receiving money off your podcasts you do have to pay a monthly fee.

    Overall: Overall, from a creator's perspective, Apple podcast is a great way to get your work out there and heard from other people. It also helps that there are so many users on the platform.

    Pros: There are so many great options to choose from on Apple Podcasts. From all of the big names to smaller ones, I can always find something stimulating to listen to and learn from on apple Podcasts.

    Cons: Can take up a lot of space on your phone if you don't set up your download preferences ahead of time. I've had to go back and correct all of that.

    Overall: So glad I have easy access to such an expansive resource. I wouldn't suggest using another podcast app.

    "Closed Wall Podcast software with too few features"

    Pros: Apple makes high quality software that works exceptionally well on their hardware. This provides podcasts easily through their systems.

    Cons: The closed wall means all podcasts get reviewed before being added to the system. There are features that are easier found in other apps that I liked better. Not incorporating music as well means that I have to use multiple apps for listening.

    Overall: I don't mind apple podcasts but the cons are enough to make me use other products before turning here. It doesn't do anything that sets it apart from the pack.

    Pros: The Apple Podcasts app allows me to listen to my favorite podcast at my fingertips. I have been using this app since it came out and it's safe to say this application has only gotten better.

    Cons: Nothing! This application is amazing keep up the work Apple!

    Cons: I have no complaints about Apple Podcasts. All around great platform.

    Pros: Love using Apple Podcasts. It organizes all my podcasts well and the interface is very visually appealing.

    Cons: No cons to the podcast app. I really enjoy using it!
