The interstellar object 3I/ATLAS is not a traditional Hopi name but rather a modern astronomical object that some people have recently associated with the Hopi “Blue Star Kachina” prophecy. In the context of the prophecy, the Blue Star Kachina is a spirit and a celestial sign that is a harbinger of significant change and the “Day of Purification”.

According to the Hopi oral tradition recorded in various accounts, the appearance of the “Blue Star Kachina” (Saquasohuh) in the heavens as a blue star is the final sign before the emergence of the “Fifth World”, a time of great purification and renewal for the Earth. The spiritual figure would also appear in the plaza during a dance and remove its mask.

While the Blue Star Kachina is a significant element of the Hopi spiritual belief system, its link to the specific comet 3I/ATLAS is a modern interpretation rather than a traditional name.
