Here's a first batch of ideas for packages in building stage or something I'm interested in. Some packages are quite easy builds, few dependencies and just a matter of few cpu cycles to have them on board. Others are quite complex or maybe dependent from tons of other things but still inside and planned for having them here. I'll write here some sort of package wishlist but you're free to add your own suggestions as well. Hope it helps

What is deleted (with html DEL tag) is already available, you can update your repository with apt-get

    • Major upgrade to moebius utility, container configuration support, adding few menus for dealing with it
    • nginx
    • php5, php-fpm. NGINX is already here and fpm is my preferred method for running with it
    • python 2 and 3: including python serial, python I/O and stuff related to Pi usage. Robomaniacs will be happy for it. Need to fix python symlinks as well
    • python-smbus
    • python-pip
    • fixing gcc symlinks. C and C++ compilers are already there but are a little bit fragmented, you need to install gcc symlinks packages as well
    • screen. simple, just 5 mins of time for the build
    • samba
    • mediatomb
    • amule daemon, not the gtk frontend

    • opencv. complex but I did it
    • mjpeg-streamer, I don't like ffmpeg so much on the Pi
    • postgresql (requested)
    • MAME. This could be tough with a lot of dependencies but it could be fun to have it
    • ROS (robot operating system) libs, seems promising but I don't have experience with it

opencv? Seriously? That's impressive. Did you include
      libatlas-base-dev gfortran
for faster matrix calculations? I can't wait to try it out...it took HOURS to set it up on my B+...the compilation time alone was 10 hours. Brutal.

I'm now working on a special build (not published, it's just an early beta now) with a robot of mine. I dont' know ROS and I'm a totally newbie with opencv as well. It works but I didn't get any benchmarks.
I'll put fortran on my wishlist and see how it goes

    • openvpn (server), openvpn (client)
    • freeswan & IKE
    • stunnel
    • tcp dump
    • motion
    • julius or sphinx (need to decide which goes first)
    • rtorrent (barebone command line bittorrent client), really light and fast
    • deluge (bit torrent client) requires a lot of deps now, using rtorrent instead
    • cron service. Now using cronie, light and fast
    • drbd, heartbeat & folks

openVPN still be very useful or do you have any documentation on building packages/containers for Moebius? Thanks

I will try to build packages on my own way, but here's my wishlist:

    • NodeJS (with NPM)
    • Postfix (email server)
    • Dovecot (IMAP/POP server)

@Aglezabad: Thanks for your suggestions, I have just uploaded your required packages (as well as vsftpd because I need it). Give me a little bit more for Node but I'm working on it.

    NOTE.
A quick hint for every user of this support area: I don't rewrite nor edit/alter your messages in any way, but, as you may see, I put DEL html code in this thread when I upload new packages. As you I'm using the thread as a todo list and I usually overwrite what I complete. I don't wanna be a BDFL and I hope you'll appreciate it.
    Cheers :)

    Hi Thom,
    - cronie is a nice and embedded replacement for the whole cron package, same behavior but lighter, you can install it from the repo.
    - git !!! shame on me ! I'm using it internally but I don't have the deb package... very disappointing :( . Give me few hours and I'll add that..
    - never used docker but seems nice, I'll study it real soon. Thanks
