#2741 counters on 10gb adapters return nonsense.

Sypnosis:

I said "nonsense" and I meant two things:
- snmpd thinks that the host is only receiving traffic, and not sending, that's not true.
- snmpd thinks that there's a HUGE amount of errors, that's not true either. One can suppose that this counter does correspond to some error counter in the netstat, but I don't see any that would fit.

Plus, I have an identical server with identical ix(4) interface, same net-snmp version (and same config) and it's output counters aren't zero (or almost close to zero). It's built with same port configuration/options, so I have no idea what triggers this weird behaviour.

    Does this still happen with 11.0-RELEASE?
    How did you install net-snmp? Pkg? Compiled from ports?

    Yup, it does. I installed net-snmp from ports, compiled it myself and explicitely chose the MFD_REWRITES to enable ithe 64-bit counters.

    Recently I switched to the bsnmpd daemon, native to FreeBSD, because I was like totally sure the problem was the net-snmp itself. Funny thing is, bsnmpd gives the same nonsense exactly, even the error rate. And the output rate is still zero (and this just cannot be, because it's an iSCSI server). So I'm now suspecting the FreeBSD or something else. In the same time I should say that this installation works just fine, so I'm still sure this enormous error rate has nothing to do with reality.

    Well, I reviewer the installation, and the thing is - it's net-snmp was started again when my colleagues rebooted the server. When bsnmpd is started, it gives a perfectly sane picture (visualized by cacti):

    So I guess the problem lies somewhere in the net-snmp daemon, or the FreeBSD port options. I have filed the report in the FreeBSD bugtracker, but the maintainer told me to report this here.
