  • I tested this software with the default options, just a mkv input file of 9,962 Kbytes, and defining mp4 the destination video format. It created a 44,100 Kbytes video output, much larger than using FFMpeg in command line (also with the default options) or another GUI frontend software for FFmpeg. With these two programs, the mp4 video created was below 15,000 Kbytes in size. Another problem with these gui frontends, is that the developers tend to stop maintaining and updating it, so some had the last update in 2015, this FFmpegYAG is from 2017, and others simply vanished. Not very reassuring.
  • It works well enough for my purposes. Just curious as to what a GUI for FFmpeg would be like. Needs updated, but it works okay.
  • The interface is terrible. The license is not specified, so it is difficult to understand how to use the program.
  • I just found this project because I want to downconvert a H265 file to H264. I was only looking to convert the video, and use my old trusted program (Video To Video) to resize it and crop the embedded black bars. I was pleasantly surprised to see this program did those things as well and was super easy to learn. That let me cut out the second program and keep better quality by not processing it a second time. I'm very impressed with this software. I'm just afraid the developer may have ditched the project. It doesn't seem to have any updates in a while. Thanks to the dev, I will enjoy the program!
  • Thanks - great work - only jpg/png output does not work
  • The app is simple and does what it is expected to do. However in term of ease of use it is mediocre. We're now used to drag and drop files yet FMY does not allows it. You're forced into adding tasks by a classic open file type dialog. Feature wise there is no menu and I did not find a way to check the version on the software. Even going to the install folder to check properties of the exe file does not provide this kind of information. I need to know what archive was used to install the software. How do you change the output name ot folder of the program? It goes straight to the point and even offers trim and crop functionality. The design is still very simple. For instance ctrl+A is not highlighting all the tasks. You need to MAJ+Click on the first and last item. I did not ask for support so I assume it is just OK. FFMPEGYAG is still an alpha version so we can expect this kind of issues will be fixed. For now the essential is covered. P.S. : Dependency problems on Linux are just the expectable issue on that OS (yet the app manager usually deal with them very well). This should not appear in reviews but in support. Then when you get the app to work can you review it.
  • dont work with ubuntu 16.04 dependency problem ????
  • Easy to use. Nice tool! Thanks.
  • Perfekt! You habe the Option to evan use modern codecs like H265 and VP9 👍👍👍👍
  • I was looking for a way to convert MP4 to MKV and vice-versa, and this GUI just did it (using COPY on the CODEC parameters). We can also save the CMD script! Excellent!! :D
  • Excelent, simple and easy. Need to grow up with more features and refinement
  • Nifty, simple but powerful frontend to ffmpeg.
  • Very nice in general. What i'm missing: - drag files from Explorer into Tasks - option to choose a destination directory - Video: change frame rate option - Display "time left" during encoding Bonus changes: - make the Crop/Trim part collapsible (hardly ever used). Makes more room for preview

  • really good program and very easy to use
  • I really like this gui, i have all I need: I can select video tracks I can select audio tracks I can concatenate videos I can trim/crop easy Is multi platform, so my windows friend can use this tool too. I can tweak the parameters for codecs. Support more codecs than Handbrake. Do more things than winff Is faster than arista. :D
