1.4.6 is the latest published version, though there is actually activity at https://github.com/taskcoach/taskcoach working to get it finally working with Python3 (and it is usable though has some issues and needs testing and isn't packaged for ready-to-go install) I don't have that greyed out issue myself at 1.4.6 on Linux. Maybe try temporarily renaming the .ini file while TC is closed so it starts fresh, see if it works again https://answers.launchpad.net/taskcoach/+faq/1061

Documentation - In quickstart the "Task Coach Screen" is not displayed

On what page at Sourceforge do you see a "Task Coach Screen" link? Can you share the URL for the page where you encountered the issue?

I would guess that it does because there are places like this ticket where people were using it on Windows 11 https://sourceforge.net/p/taskcoach/bugs/1726/#a0ce

btw, an effort was started last year to finally port Task Coach to Python3, see https://github.com/taskcoach/taskcoach If that can get finished, then development and bug-fixing could be possible again. Please feel free to encourage that progress or recruit anyone qualified to help

I bet you are using Wayland right? Something needs to be updated in the Task Coach files for Wayland at least under KDE in my experience Related to this https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=483492 ?
