Hi all,

many may have noticed that the support for the signatures was not very impressive over the last years. Fact is, that I barely find any time for the maintenance of the code. This results in more and more outage times.

I am now taking the consequences and shutting down steamsigmaker.de.

This project will be at a definite end. Perhaps there will be a new project sometimes in the future, because I really enjoyed the challenges and the community.

But for now, I hand over steamsignature.de to the guys from http://www.pcgamesn.com/, who already operate http://steamcommunity.com/groups/steamsignature/ .

Technically, there will be a simple redirect for any of my themes to the default theme of steamsignature.com. Only exception is the group theme, which redirects to their group theme.

The main web page will redirect to their page.

The steam group will be handed over.

If anybody just really cannot imagine to live without my themes, you are welcome to drop me a line to find a case by case solution.

Hi all,

currently, requests to steamsignature.com are being forwarded to my signatures, I have no idea why.

I cannot contact http://steamcommunity.com/id/psvkittv

Currently, I have 86k requests per hour on my server, normal are 8k-10k.

There were some requests if I could not provide a signature like steamsignature.com. But I will not steal their design before I did not talk to them.
Even if I would have liked them to talk to me before putting their load on my server...

Anyways, welcome @steamsignature.com users. For whatever reason :)

Server Maintenance

Hi All!

There will be several downtimes due to server maintenance today and tomorrow. A change in DNS system will be included. This change can take up to 24 hours to propagate to all ISPs. This means that there can be an error like "Server cannot be found" for up to 24 hours.

I try to do my best to keep the downtimes as small as possible!

Themes repaired

Hello and sorry for the long absence.
I am very busy in private life at the moment, and it does not look like this will change, like, the next 18 years or so :)

But I promise to at least try to invest more time into the project.

But now the good news:

The broken themes should now work again. Steam changed its content provider, and I updated all the hard links inside the scripts.

Good news everybody!

The signatures are back!!

I have increased the caching time from 10 minutes to 30 minutes, let's hope that this will prevent that error in the future!

Thanks for everybody who waited and did not jump on the first best other signature service :)

Communication with steamcommunity blocked

Hi all,

it looks like the steam server blocked my signature server.
i reworked the theme komedy to use a new api call which i coded in a hurry.
all other themes taken offline until reworked.
komedy theme set as default and fallback for all other themes.

support ticket is created.

let's hope the api calls get not blocked too...

Roadmap

Hi all. Just a short update of what is going on at the moment and what will be next:

I am working at a new design for the web page currently. I think it can go live end of October.

In November, I would like to do Theme Weeks, completely focusing on polishing themes, new features and two or three new themes.

And finally, in December, I want to rewrite the editor.
WYSIWYG will be the magic word.

I am hoping for some ideas and feedback, especially during Theme Weeks. Feel free to invite your friends to this group :-)

New Update!

Hi all!
Some have been waiting for it more than others, here is the new update!

I made a complete rewrite of the engine, the file size got lowered dramatically, and everything should still look like before.

But I am pretty sure the changes I made will break the complete known universe, so please do not hesitate to inform me if something is not working as expected.

I am very, very very very proud to introduce you the Steam Signature Editor!
(Please see this as a first version. It may have its edges, especially at the web design part. If anybody wants to help me improve it, you are very welcome!)
You can, with a few lines of xml, create your very custom theme!
This theme can then be used like the themes made by me.

Also new: the first Steam Group Signature theme.

I hope everything goes well and everybody has fun with the new features!
