It's really hard to do this game justice in a review, in my honest opinion.

However, I'll try.

The aesthetics of this game are one of absolute highlights of 2019. The beautiful, painterly pixel-art looks stunning in motion, and the storytelling & depth of the characters is grand, and the sound design is great.

Having a rogue-like with an over-arching story of family drama that advances even if your run absolutely fails is a very interesting approach, especially whilst having most of the family be playable with wildly different playstyles & abilities.

I'm not entirely confident yet, but I think this might be my GOTY 2019.

(Also don't be fooled by the hours played; I also played the demo version that was out for over 20 hours, so I've plenty of playtime in the title.)

Best Metroidvania-ish Rogue-esque (by way of some gameplay elements and the vaguely Souls-ian death system) I've dun ever played. Beats Rogue Legacy, Dead Cells, Salt & Sanctuary and a good handful of others in both the tight gameplay, the excellent artstyle (with nigh-impossible levels of personality), great lore, awesome characters and TIGHT sound design.

Great game, and hands down one of the best indies I've played in recent years. (Though, I realise I'm very LTTP on this, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Am glad I waited; it's better with the expansions!)

So, still only played through it once - Despite there being lots of small things to find. It's an excellent little unsettling game, with lots of oomph and surprises - And a beautifully realised grimy, low-fi artistic visual design, with some great and, at times, humorous writing.

I digress - Ya'll should've bought this already, what're you waiting for?

It's cheaper than dirt!

This is one of my favourite and personal must-haves within software. It's one of the most useful pieces of software for general desktop use, and definitely one of the very best applications on Steam.

What does DisplayFusion do, you ask? It gives you the ability to put an individual Windows Taskbar on any monitor you'd like, aswell as let you have different wallpapers for your different monitors with relative ease.

It lets you pin individual programs to whichever taskbar you'd like. I've got Steam, Firefox, Chrome & Pathfinder on my main, and GeForce Experience, MusicBee, Mumble, Nexus Mod Manager and Nvidia Control Panel on my secondary. Customising and optimising your workspace is as easy as can be with this neat lil' program.

You can also create profiles for wallpapers and the like, and have your main monitor change wallpaper every 5 minutes and 13 seconds, whilst your secondary changes every 13 minutes and 37 seconds, it really doesn't matter what you want from this software - It's up to the task.

Ofcourse the wallpaper settings let you pick whichever folder or website you'd like to pull the changing wallpapers from. DeviantArt page? No problem. A wallpaper site? No problem. Your Portal-wallpaper folder on one, and your Half-Life wallpaper folder on the other? No problem at all. Scaling the wallpaper? No problem at all! Do you want to re-align it horizontally and vertically? Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Customising your taskbars and desktop environments has never been this smooth, easy & fast - Sounds like PR jargon, doesn't it?, but it's the truth. I rarely recommend any sort of paid-application, however this is one that I can't help but recommend. The Steam-Pro version is the best there is, and it's incredibly cheap for what you get. This is one of just three programs I've EVER paid for, and damn if it wasn't worth every penny.

This game is seriously great, if you havent tried it, you should. Its an isometric survival game with the most gorgeous hand-drawn visuals I've seen in ages. And please, Don't Starve.

I've been thrown hundreds of feet into the air by giants, I've been trampled by angry mammoths, I've been eaten by hungry dragons, I've been smashed by maddened trolls, I've been hunted by reanimated vikings, I've been chased by assasins, I've killed a dragon with my fists, I've sacrificed companions to evil daedric lords, I've been arrested for stealing potatoes, and I've put buckets on people's heads. I'm ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ loving it. And I've also crowned this game my Game of the Year. *GOTY / GOATEE*
... TL;DR: Buy this damned game, you can thank me later.
9.3/10.

Frictional Games owe me several pairs of underwear. Frictional, take note; You should've packaged an underwear bundle with this game.
By the way, this game is amazingly awesome. It will most likely scare the living crap out of you, but it'll be worth it. The shame of crapping oneself is nothing compared to the adrenaline kicks this game will give you. Also; Its a great idea to disgrace yourself on skype or teamspeak with mates whilst playing this.

TL;DR: This game is worth every sodding penny. (Even the extra cost of many, many pieces of underwear.) - Remember having back-up underwear close by whilst playing this!
