In every game you'll have a new enemy for life and if you can't win - they won't win either. The most rage bait game I've ever played with some public lobbies even more toxic than counter-strike.

This game felt as if they made a bunch of DOOM demo projects and just put them all together - both the good and the bad ones. So there's a lot of cool stuff in vacuum, but altogether it feels quite bitter-sweet.

Really struggled to not give a negative review. As a modern DOOM game I do not like it and even hate many aspects of it, but emotions aside it is an alright game overall.
Absolutely NOT worth the insane full price investment though; at 60% off it's okay if your PC is good enough.

The positives:
- Great visuals, some of the later environments really impressed me.
- Music was alright, wish they leaned even more into the viking themes. It was definitely missing an extra something.
- Base combat is decent for the most part with increased difficulty and game speed.
- Weapon design positively surprised me with what they could come up with.

The negatives:
- No multiplayer + higher price.
- Wtf did they do to glory kills?? It's rare to get a non-generic animation and they feel very underwhelming, the whole system is super tuned down.
- Extreme over-reliance on the shield & parry mechanic often forces you to spam shield block. In boss battles it felt the most annoying, because your movement is surprisingly limited - you can only parry. Having finished the game I really only remember the infuriating moments. Not a fan.
- The skill ceiling is definitely lower. The weapon rotation from previous games is not really needed, just go off vibes.
- The mech levels felt more like a forced mini-game and were very much NOT DOOM. Same with the dragon sections, but I'd say those were a little bit more interesting with the unrestricted flying, went by quicker.
- Performance was okay with DLSS on 4090, but it's definitely not optimised. Do not buy with an older system.
- I'm convinced that either the enemy AI or their design is a big downgrade. In previous Doom games the chaos felt organised in a way, but not here. I don't think it's even possible to avoid all damage with some of the enemies. The shielded hitscan attacks out of your range just feel like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
- There's now swimming sections in DOOM. Huuuuh?? To be fair some of the quick puzzles felt neat, but still out of place.

Honestly just wtf were they thinking with the direction of this game.. They reworked the things that worked well and introduced things that don't. Again, in a vacuum this game is okay, but you're still gonna have certain expectations with DOOM in the title. Just imagine it's not a DOOM game and maybe buy it on deep sale.

Early Access Review
I've never played Dark Souls, but this is what I imagine a FPS Dark Souls would be (with a roguelite twist) and it's just awesome. A wonderful combination of great gameplay, visuals and performance - such a pleasant surprise.

This game really rewards good aim, movement, positioning and it feels great. I read some of the negative reviews where people complained about the difficulty or having to grind too much and it gave me a nice chuckle - in the same sentence boasting about playing elden ring, silksong, etc. and then how in this game the difficulty is just not fun hahah

There's plenty of items/weapons/spells/combos that turn the tables completely, you just have to experiment and find what works for you. The higher the challenge and the better you play, the faster you progress - no grind. The only time when I've felt like there's a grind for anything is getting some weapon upgrades where you have to go out of your way a bit to tick all the boxes.
If you choose to play overly safe - yeah, it'll likely become more of a grind.

My only negatives so far are very minor:
- Performance could be a little bit more solid, but I was not expecting this game to be 200+ fps based on trailers/videos with just some minor drops in select areas.
- Wish there was some extra rewards/incentives to experiment with loadouts. There's a lot of viable loadouts, but it's very easy to just stick to your comfort guns that you've maxed out and ignore the rest.
- The game could use a witch hunter's compendium of sorts. Like a mini wiki that describes enemies and traps you've encountered. The more you encounter something, the more tips/weaknesses get listed. I needed to read a random reddit post just to figure out the gatekeeper mechanics. Also I had played for like 10 whole hours when I realized there are consumables you use from your inventory xd

Overall - very good game, worth the price! Took me 17hrs to 100% the current version of the game and will be returning for more.
However, if you suck at shooters - it's the same as sucking at mobas or souls-likes - you'll be punished repeatedly until you learn and get better.

More of a mid review than negative. Wish it had just a bit more thought put into all the mechanics to make the game fun instead of a repetitive grind.
Biggest downsides:
- Your attack doesn't make you invulnerable when in most games it would be the case at least to some extent. If you happen to kill an enemy that's mid-attack while being in its target path - you take damage.
- The progression is very slow for how repetitive the game is. For what it's worth there's a bit of a challenge to the game, but it's annoying to go through the same few levels again and again just to get the upgrades.
- The souls aren't global. You use souls to get upgrades, but each character has their own soul pool. So lets say there's a ♥♥♥♥ character you don't enjoy playing, but want to 100% the game - you have to suffer with him from 0 and it's just not fun (totally didn't happen to me).

Overall not a terrible game, but not very good either, especially for its price.

The visuals and animations are pretty decent and the gameplay isn't too bad, just if there was some kind of invulnerability with attacks (at least for 2nd character ffs), option to start at further levels or a soul gathering multiplier and global souls - it'd be a positive review.

Remembered as a fun game, but in its current state it's too broken to play on a modern system. There's a 3,000 word guide titled "Super Meat Boy - Tech Support" which might help, but even when I got it running there's still bugs - very annoying, basically unplayable.

Decent fun, but the visuals are definitely something to get used to - not the most readable game with all the chaos. I suggest you put some gameplay in fullscreen before buying and see how your eyes react. Some color schemes are better than others, but still easy to lose track of crosshair.

It's good for about 10 hours and then it grows stale, and I'm left kinda disappointed. Playing around the destructible terrain is so cool, but the overall progression and gameplay loop is just not interesting enough to captivate. Too much of the same.
If you like these kind of bullet hell, auto shooter games you'll likely get a solid 20-30 hours out of it at least. If not - maybe try it when on sale.

Fun game and a bit longer than you'd expect, but unless you have a high tier pc maybe just play the demo. I'd say the fps dips were very tolerable on 9800X3D + 4090, but still a little annoying to have to experience those. My interest kinda faded a few hours in, but kept going for the 100% - a handful of rage inducing objectives aside it was a rather solid 12hrs.

Fair bit shorter than expected having just finished opposing force, but not too bad overall. Nice and short expansion.

Holds up surprisingly well! In many ways better than HL1, which I really did not expect.
