Pretty fun to play but rather short, the experience is even better if you have friends in voice chat watching and making fun of your mistakes.

At first the game is confusing and the amount of things you have to learn can be a bit overwhelming and make you feel rather dumb as things don’t seem conventionally logical. However once you adapt and understand how the backpack works, how the resource nodes work, and crafting it starts to be extremely fun.

It took the second play session to really get it and once I did I was hooked, the planetary threats you face aren't too serious which leads to a chill exploration/mining experience. Each new planet allows you a chance to set up your base better with the experience gained from the previous planet which is also very satisfying as they get more organized and automated.

Astroneer doesn’t force you down a specific route either, you can follow the story or do it later, your only limitation is the resources you need for what you want to build which will then decide what you do, this adds to the feeling of freedom because you don’t have to follow a linear path.

As with most games in the adventure/exploration genre the game is definitely better with company, and the gameplay is perfect for having chill conversations while having a lil bit of distraction.

For the price it is definitely worth it, even at full price this game has enough content to easily play for a hundred hours.

The soundtrack and music throughout is absolutely beautiful, the artstyle is cute and some of the choices of interactivity are interesting. However the story is just far too simplistic I feel like the game doesn’t truly portray the depth of loss. I get it, it's trying to be cheerful and uplifting, but it could have been more.

Still for how cheap it is and how delightful the music is, I'd consider it worth it.

Probably one of the only games where the correlation between my skill and how much I enjoy it is completely inverted. I absolutely suck but I don’t care and that's rare, usually when I suck at a game I tend to dislike it. It could be a jumble of nostalgia for AoE2/3 alongside the fact that I only play the game PvE or with friends but the lack of “sweating” makes what is a potentially very macro intensive game just a chill vibe where you spam troops.

You could absolutely sweat the game and get really good at build orders/strategy macro but you don’t have to to enjoy the game. It has a pretty decent campaign and I’d say quite pretty graphics while also not needing a very strong pc to run it. Compared to previous titles I’d also say that the Civ’s play rather differently to one another which makes for more time playing the game as if you get bored of one civ you can just move onto another one and have new mechanics to deal with.

If you enjoy visual novels with a slight “your choices make a difference” gameplay loop then you will probably enjoy the game. It has a mix of corny but amusing humour along with some cute moments. I'd say it has a rather laidback gameplay feel it's somewhere in between VA-11 Hall-A and Not Tonight. Although the setting is quite different from both those games, if you enjoyed them you will probably enjoy this one as well.

Also if it's on sale it's an absolute no brainer, buy it.

Arc definitely has a lot of potential and as it stands it's a good game on a casual level, the pve is decent and can’t really be made harder due to the heavy threat of pvp in more sweaty lobbies. The pvp can be really fun but suffers from sound issues, hitreg and server desync.

You will find yourself getting downed around corners because of the desync, and sometimes you also visibly see your shots land on someone, get sound notifications but they didn’t take a damage instance (yes i’ve seen this happen to me as well so I guess it goes both ways). The sound issues have to do with overall clarity, arcs are incredibly loud and some sounds such as a raider flare, looting, breaching. However sometimes you will have no audio on a player running towards you, meanwhile your teammate moving sounds like an elephant stomping.

There's also the fact that trigger nades are absolutely busted as for the rest of the gun meta you could argue that stitcher is too strong but honestly that isn’t going to change the outcome of a fight between good players whereas a trigger nade absolutely will.

All of these things can be worked on and improved so I don’t see them as reasons not to play (unless they never do get addressed).

As for what is good about arc raiders for someone with my playstyle It reminds me a lot of apex in its early seasons, The infinite free loadouts and just being able to go to a hotspot and fight is extremely fun, it reminds me of the farm or famine moments when hotdropping in apex. The pve is also somewhat fun to interact with as if left ignored it will sometimes absolutely cook you. The ability to use agro’ed npc’s to find other players is also enjoyable. You get the feeling of tracking down your prey as they stumble through the arc, and sometimes it's you running away from two shredders into a third one and then into enemy players.

As it currently stands Arc is definitely a good game, but it needs more content or the playerbase will slowly dip as once you have done everything once there isn’t anything to keep you hooked, we need more maps/arcs/weapons. While I'm fairly certain in time these things will come, the question is only how long will it take.

When I saw its trailer on release I was rather disappointed, the gameplay looked like a departure from the norm of the franchise. They had created scuffed RGBefied Doom and on top of that the loss of the original Lo Wang voice actor didn’t help. So I waited till the game was on a deep discount and I'm glad I did. At full price this game definitely was not worth it, 70% off though you can argue its alright.

Starting with what I didn’t like I genuinely had to stand still sometimes to hear Hojis dialogue because if I continued playing I would ALWAYS run into a cutscene that would cut off the conversation and this was incredibly frustrating. The game has a truly excessive amount of cutscenes that pull you out of the experience.

The movement was also disappointing. It felt stiff, take for example a grappling hook forcing you in a specific direction and with a predetermined amount of speed, just downright unsatisfying. You should allow the player freedom of movement even if it means they will sometimes die because they didn’t control their momentum properly.

The lack of boss fights compared to the prequels, there were only 2 boss fights and that's including the final boss. When it comes to the boss fights themselves they were ok except for the once again stupid cutscene in the final boss fight that pulls you out of the action.

The weapon/character leveling/choices were rather bland, I presume that on lower difficulties players maybe got more orbs (I played through the game on hardcore) but even if I had gotten more orbs I wouldn’t have really cared since nothing in any of the trees was exciting.

As for what was actually good about the game, some of the new enemies introduced were actually fun/creative designs in terms of their kits, and that's about it.

The only real reason to buy this game is because you just enjoy the characters and world of shadow warrior (Hoji and Wang's bromance). However you may still be disappointed because the world building was minimal. I'd argue shadow warriors 2 was the best game in the franchise and they should take a look at a lot of what it did right if they ever consider making a 4th game.

dogwater game, settings can't actually be applied, if you load in as the second player you have to rejoin or be movement locked forever.

If your demo isn't even playable don't release it.

The base idea is definitely interesting. Cleanup and refurbish properties. The money you make doing it doesn't even matter, just the fact of making something that was a mess beautiful gives off serotonin.

The fact that you can do it in a game without having to put in the actual hours of work makes it seem like there is no way this could not be fun.

However in practice the experience gets very dull in a couple hours of gameplay. Mostly due to the fact that all these properties have the exact same type of trash to clean, the tasks feel monotonous. If houses were crafted with more unique dirt elements rather than copy pasted elements I could see this being so much more fulfilling.

I wish I could really see the personality of the people that lived in the house. Have unique types of trash, maybe make it so you come across a dead body or old love letters, have some story building outside of just the emails.

As it is currently you will have seen everything there is to see in 2-3 hours of gameplay. Base game also lacks different furbishing options. It seems like a lot of what could have made this game fun for a couple more hours is locked behind dlc. A very mediocre experience, it could be so much more.

I kinda expected there to be a plot twist the whole time and there just wasn’t. It was just an oddly “normal” experience.

The aesthetic is amusing, and I did enjoy my play-through but seriously you should not have to click constantly for every single letter your character types . Either auto type when I choose my option or let me hold down a letter, but that part of the experience was just awful.
