DAMN! This looks so promising. The Visuals, the animations, the audio design, the detailed maps...it all combines to create such an amazing atmosphere! It is so immersive!

I really felt like I was there, in a city literally overrun. A constant feel of urgency to not stay anywhere too long, of being hunted, of NEEDING to cooperate with others to stand the best chance of getting out! And I really wanted to just get out, just to go back in, such a rush!

The way this dev team communicates appears outstanding to me, I will follow every announcment they make!

PS: I first played the game on the FREE weekend and bought it shortly after, which is why it says "product received for free"

I love DayZ and have been following the development closely up to this point, contributing with suggestions and tons of bug reports on the feedback tracker.

DO NOT BUY OR COME BACK TO PLAY...UNLESS

you understand that this is in fact not 1.0 but 0.64.

because otherwise you will be hugely disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the devs did an AMAZING job in 2018. They really picked up the pace and the game runs and plays better than ever before. BUT, there is barely any content, which is a result of them having to have moved to the new engine.

They said publicly, that it will be worked on with the full team of 86 developers for the year of 2019, but after that is a grey and undefined area. The bosses at Bohemia Interactive, it seems, have forced to call it 1.0, as that is what was promised in the end of 2017 and they wanted to finally break DayZ's history of missing deadline after deadline.

Missing this GIGANTIC one, they probably think, would have caused too much damage to their image, but I'm convinced they underestimate the far bigger damage that will be done by people, who are returning and expecting, rightfully so, a finished game, only to realise that there is barely any content. And most people, especially new ones, won't even know that the game will be developed further. Cause that is what 1.0 means, a FINISHED GAME. And that is not, I repeat, NOT what DayZ is right now.

EDIT #1: Don't get me wrong: In my opinion this is the best version we've had of DayZ by far!(which of course should also be expected for a game that is even going all out and calling itself 1.0). This however IS a recommendation and I do NOT recommend getting in touch with the game in it's current state to either returning or new players. That being said, I will update/change my review, as soon as the game IS in a state that I would recommend it to people.
