Unlike many, I went into Highguard feeling more optimistic than most and with a feeling of genuienly wanting to see it do well. Given that it is developed and self-published by a small 100 person team. So here's my opinions so far.

Positives:

* I genuinely like the overall look of the game. Whilst doing the tutorial I thought the environments looked gorgeous. Reminding me of League of Legends artwork, which has always looked incredible.

* The gunplay is punchy and satisfying. You can really tell this is ex-respawn dev's that have worked on this game. The guns all feel like they have their place currently, although the Paladin shotgun definitely needs tuning down.

* I love the sieging element of the game. It feels really satisfying when you invade the other teams base and crack open their shield. It looks so cinematic.

Negatives:

* Reinforcing walls feels pointless. Most players seem to ignore it other than initially at the start when you have nothing else to do. Reinforced walls seem to have little to no impact on the game as you can easily just find another wall that hasn't been reinforced to break through. On top of that you can still one shot reinforced walls with a rocket launcher and break it. This feels like a half-baked feature that I honestly feel should be removed completely.

* Mining ore is boring and reptitive. I 100% think getting rid of the ore and instead having PvE bots who drop resources you can spend would make the game so much better. I just hate the way that mining the ore disrupts the overall flow of the match. Also timing your strikes to mine ore quicker just feels clunky and unsatisfying.

*3v3 is an odd choice. Whilst I don't think the teams should be made too much bigger, I think 5v5 would be good number to try initially. The biggest issue with 3v3 is as soon as one person goes down, the whole team may as well just give up. This also ties into the fact that maps just feel way too big, especially for a 3v3 game.

Concluding Thoughts:

The game is worth checking out if you haven't already. It does offer something unique and whilst it definitely has a way to go, I hope enough people give it a chance so that the team can continue to develop and expand the game. Because there is so much potential here.

I don’t know how many of you have experienced “Where Winds Meet” but I’d like to inform you that this is by far the most insane FREE game I have ever played.

The amount of content this thing has is not even funny.
I’ve just watched the CN version of the game where a guild broke one of their members free from jail.. WHICH INVOLVED DOING STEALTH, and protecting him from guards and other players trying to down the prisoner.. like WTF?! 😳

lanthimos remade a 2003 korean cult film about conspiracy theories and corporate evil and somehow made the most accidentally timely film of 2025. bugonia feels like it was made for our exact moment of ecological collapse and paranoia. way too on the nose right now

One of the few games I have been endlessly obsessed with lately on the Steam Deck is Megabonk. It's extremely hard to put down. The combination of mechanics from Risk of Rain mixes well with Vampire Survivors and creates this addictive experience that I find myself losing way too much time in. I am still working my way through, but it seems I will have even more to enjoy since a new patch has just been released with some brand new content.

Megabonk is on sale for $7.99 and is rated Verified. It's flawless on the Steam Deck as well, getting upwards of 90 FPS with low battery drain, though I prefer keeping it at 60 to maximize battery life.

If you’re looking to play Megabonk on your Mac, you might be disappointed to learn that Megabonk isn’t available for macOS. Without a high-performance Windows PC or gaming console, you will have to explore other solutions to play the game.

Early Access Review
We had to rollback the server after falling off the edge of the map and losing our gear. We found out the hard way that the world is flat.

Game is buns and resulted in multiple filled diapers and tantrums. If I could change anything about this slop I would implement a "Story Difficulty" mode, inspired by Game of the Year Expedition 33. For an open world sandbox, progression feels impossible with bosses like Bonemass in the game. I fear this could all be solved with some hand-holding implemented by the developers (like Expedition 33's epic tale) so I could burp and rub my big fat belly in peace without any stakes or fear of dying in game.

Only install if you are adequately stocked on adult diapers but even then I would be suspicious
