I want to give a complete and final answer to this question that I have been asking myself for years, ever since I started playing this game.

I will not be discussing whether the game itself is halal or not, because back in the day, in CS 1.6 and CSS, some resistance groups in Palestine were portrayed as terrorists, etc. But this has been changed in the new CS2. Although we still see Arabic maps, that is not the main point I want to discuss here.

I will mainly be talking about skins. From my point of view, it is haram to buy a skin, buy a case or sell it or even openning it, or interact with the skins market, stickers, or anything related to that, except for some skins that I will mention in the next paragraph.

The only skins I am referring to are the ones sold directly in the in-game market. When you enter CS2, there is a market that is not open to the community, where Valve sells skins directly for money or points. So I am not talking about the Steam Market. In that case, it is allowed to buy skins that are sold directly in this market, because you already know the exact price you are paying and exactly what you are getting, the issue is that the stat of that skin minimal wear and field tested for example do not have the same price, for this it's better to avoid buying them also, since you still don't know the value of what you are getting, now you may ask what if i buy that skin from someone who already bought it, this comes back to the same problem, since there are so many people for example trying to get the limited time skin in the market but in the best condition so the price for that skin will be the highest as possible compered to other stats, and this is considered as supporting gambling because you're giving money back to that person so he will try again to gamble.

What is not allowed, however, is opening cases using the points you earned, because this leads back to the same issue, which is greed. You will keep buying passes and opening cases with points, hoping to get a good skin, and this becomes gambling.

Now let us go back to the normal store market, which is the Steam Market. When buying skins there, you are contributing to a gambling-based community. What gives skins their value is their market price. If you buy skins, you are buying skins from people who gambled to get them, and now they want to get rid of them so they can recover their money and gamble again, or they won through gambling and now want to cash out.

So what is the point of not buying? If no one buys skins, then skins lose their value. If that happens, they become worth almost nothing, and no one will have the intention to open a case, because whether they get a red or a blue item, it will have no value since no one is going to buy it.

One important detail I want to add is that skins can come from three sources.

The first source is the end-of-match drop, where you have an extremely low chance of getting a good skin. Most of the time, you only get a skin worth around $0.03, which is basically worthless. These ones are halal to sell but not halal to buy since you don't know if they come from cases or end-match drop.

The second source, and the biggest one, is cases. This is the main channel through which most skins enter the game.

The third source, which is the newest one, is the official CS2 in-game market. As I said before, only the skins sold directly on that in-game market at a fixed price can be purchased. Nothing else. Also, these skins should not have large price variations depending on their condition or float, such as Minimal Wear and Factory New, where the price gap can be significant. For that reason, I would rather not buy them.

In summary:
Do not buy skins from the steam market, you can buy the ones sold directly in the CS2 in-game market if the price is known and the price gap isn't that big when comparing stats of that skin.
Do not buy cases, open cases, or even sell them.

This fatwa was not given by a sheikh or any scholar. It is my own analysis of the system and the conclusion I came to. Since no sheikh, as far as I know, has answered this specific question, I had to research it by myself. If you follow what I said here, you are protecting yourself from gambling and you are no longer supporting it in any way.
