What are the space templates?
When you create a space in Jira, you will do so from a template library where you can browse a variety of different templates across all the Jira Cloud products you own: Jira and Jira Service Management. In the template library, the information and best practices of each template help you select the optimal template that is best suited for your new space.
Jira comes with a variety of space templates to help teams get set up quickly by creating spaces tailored to a specific team or use. These templates include pre-configured work types, workflows and other features relevant to their type. Find out about creating a space using templates
Kanban visualizes and advances your space forward using work items on a powerful board. It’s designed for teams that control work volume from a backlog or connect work across their tools. Find out about kanban features
Scrum sprints toward your space goals with a board, backlog, and roadmap. It’s best suited for teams that deliver work on a regular cadence or connect work across their tools. Find out about scrum features
Bug tracking manages a list of development tasks and bugs. It’s best suited for teams that are capturing, tracking, and resolving bugs. Find out about bug tracking features
Kanban

Choose the kanban template to help teams visualize their work, limit work currently in progress, and maximize efficiency. Work is continuously delivered in kanban, and your team pulls single pieces of work from the backlog, and then moves them to done.
Track work using a simple board
Work items are represented visually on your kanban board, allowing teams to track the status of work at any time. Find out about kanban boards
Improve team focus by using the board to limit work in progress
Set the maximum amount of work that can exist in each status with work in progress (WIP) limits. Find out about WIP limits
Continuously improve with agile reports
Like the cumulative flow diagram, help ensure your teams are consistently delivering maximum value back to your business. Find out about agile metrics
Scrum
Choose the scrum template to build your product in a series of fixed-length iterations (sprints) that give teams a framework for shipping on a regular cadence.
Plan upcoming work in a backlog
Prioritize and plan your team's work on the backlog. Break down work from your roadmap, and order work items so your team knows what to deliver first. Find out about the backlog
Organize cycles of work into sprints
Use sprints to drive incremental delivery, allow your team to ship high-quality work and deliver value faster. Find out about sprints
Understand your team’s velocity and capacity
Improve predictability on planning and delivery with out-of-the-box reports, including the sprint report and velocity chart. Find out about agile metrics
Bug tracking
Choose the bug tracking template to capture, track and resolve bugs and work items throughout your entire development process.
Identify and capture bugs
See all your bugs in one place. Once you’ve identified a bug, capture its details by creating a work item from anywhere in your space. Each unique work type can have its own custom workflow.
Assign and prioritize
Once captured, bugs can be ranked and prioritized based on importance, urgency, and your team’s workload capacity.
