Find & add items to your cart in Instacart with Gemini Apps

You can check the availability of groceries and household items in stores and add items directly to your Instacart shopping cart with Gemini Apps.

What you need

To connect Instacart to Gemini Apps, you need to:

Be 13 or over and in the US.
Be signed in to Gemini Apps with a personal Google Account. For now, this feature isn’t available if you sign in with a work or school Google Account. Learn how to sign in to Gemini Apps.
Have Keep Activity on. Gemini can’t connect to Instacart when this setting is off.

Important: For now, the Instacart connected app is:

Only available in English.
Only available in the Gemini mobile app and the Gemini web app at gemini.google.com.
Not available in certain features, like Gems or Gemini Live.

On your computer, go to gemini.google.com.
Ask the Gemini app to add an item to your shopping cart in Instacart.
- Tip: Mention “Instacart” or add @Instacart to your prompt.
If Instacart isn’t connected, you’ll get the option to connect it.
- To connect to Instacart, your Instacart account must be linked to your Google Account. If it isn’t, follow the steps in the Gemini app to link it.
Follow the on-screen instructions.

Tips:

For a quicker experience, include specific details in your request, like which store you want to shop at and the version of the product you want to add to your cart.
Your default saved address on Instacart is used to find nearby stores. You can ask for a list of your other saved addresses and switch to one of those instead.
You can disconnect the Instacart app anytime in your Connected Apps settings.
