Find, book & manage restaurant reservations on OpenTable with Gemini Apps

You can ask Gemini Apps to help you find, book, and manage reservations for restaurants on OpenTable. To do this, Gemini Apps use Reserve with Google to check availability and complete your bookings with OpenTable. For example, you can ask Gemini Apps to:

• Check a restaurant’s availability
• Book, change, and cancel reservations
• Check your existing reservations

To connect the OpenTable app to Gemini Apps, you need to:

• Be 18 or over and in the US.
• Be signed in to Gemini Apps with a personal Google Account. For now, this feature isn’t available if you sign in with a work or school Google Account. Learn how to sign in to Gemini Apps.
• Have Keep Activity on. Gemini can’t connect to OpenTable when this setting is off.

Important: For now, the OpenTable connected app is:

• Only available in English.
• Only available in the Gemini mobile app and the Gemini web app at gemini.google.com.
• Not available in certain features, like Gems or Gemini Live.

1. On your computer, go to gemini.google.com.
2. Ask the Gemini app to find a restaurant based on your preferences and book a reservation.
   • Tip: Mention “OpenTable” or add @OpenTable to your prompt.
3. If OpenTable isn’t connected, you’ll get the option to connect it.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

• For more tailored responses, include specific details in your request, like the number of people, the desired date and time, or your preferred cuisine.
• If you’ve connected your calendar app to Gemini Apps, you can ask Gemini to check your schedule before booking the reservation.
• You can disconnect the OpenTable app anytime in your Connected Apps settings.

• Check if [restaurant name] has a table for 2 around 7:30 PM and book it if they do.
• I'm in the mood for Mexican food near me. Find something good with availability for 3 in the next hour and book the best option.
• I need to find a restaurant that can take 8 people for dinner next Friday, is a good place for a celebration, and maybe has steak or seafood. Let me know what's available after 7 PM.

  •  Add this to my Google Calendar and remind me tomorrow to text the family.

• What OpenTable reservations do I have for Saturday?
  •  Can you cancel the lunch reservation?

For now, Gemini Apps can’t perform certain actions for you using the OpenTable app, like:

• Modify existing reservations
  • Instead, Gemini gives you a link to update your reservation in the OpenTable app.
• Process payments
• Show user reviews or ratings
• Read menus
