Limited or no ad earnings explained

If you are in the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), the Notices column on your Content page shows how policy decisions and advertiser choices may impact your video’s ad revenue.

A notice appears if your video does not fully meet our advertiser-friendly content guidelines.

We use the following labels to provide insights into your earnings:

  • Limited ad earnings: This status means that your video is eligible for ads, but brands who have opted to only run on safer content will not be running ads on your video (as per our advertiser-friendly content guidelines). You should expect to see lower ad revenue from these videos compared to videos that are suitable for all advertisers.
  • No ad earnings: This status means that this video is not eligible to run ads as per our advertiser-friendly content guidelines and will not earn ad revenue although it may be suitable for other revenue streams.

In some cases, there may be actions you can take to resolve a notice. To address a notice, review the Impact summary card for your content. From there, you can select the Appeal button to request a human review.
