But when you said Linux is basically checking mail and the rare game, well that is nonsense.

I use Linux because I need reliability and no bullshit so I can do my work. I remote into all sorts of environments and deal with Windows often, I would never want any of that on my home or work computer. Windows is too slow and too broken for me to rely on for earning money.

But I also do all my hobbies: music production, photography, graphic design, 3d modeling, 3d printing, creating web pages, etc. There is really nothing I need windows for.

As for games: My library shows 1200 games ready to play, so I am not sure why you say “scattershot”. I am playing the latest Resident Evil Requiem right now. Works perfectly, no set up steps at all.

So fine, maybe linux isn’t for you, but no reason to spread fud.

It depends if you are talking anti cheat or anti copy, two different things. Proton translates the anticopy in denuvo passing it back and forth to wine, effectively making it work.

No. I just do not want anything to do with that. Everything works now so why would I want to? It also breaks my cloud saves, and basically ease of use. That was fine when I was 12 but that was a long time ago.

Also, I quit using google a long time ago, but thats another story.

And thats the funny thing right? On linux is it there? Yes. Do I care? No. It has zero effect on me because it didn’t take over the computer, only at a level inside of proton. Tab in and out, run at the same time, run on steamdeck. So much better than windows, and yet its going to get ruined.

I don’t think it will. It will just make them create another version of control, worse than the last. We already know that many kinds of anti cheat keep linux out already. Denuvo was more or less no big deal, I never even notice it exists. But now it is likely to change and make things shitty again.

Frankly I would rather they have not hacked it.
