My personal suggestion would be that anything invented or created that we consider intellectual property now can only be owned by living individuals, whom can exploit their creation for 5 years as they do now, fully dictating who and how gets to use it. This is to maintain the material incentive of being creative.

After those 5 years the IP goes into the public domain, allowing full and free personal and commercial use for anyone.

There is some leg room for a possible fixed percentage going to the inventor or the public after those 5 years as well, but generally the idea is that yes, being smart and making something great should also reward you with first dibs on any commercial opportunity deriving from it, but ONLY you and not some patent farming conglomerate, and only for a fixed time.

I actually had great experiences there when i need something. Customer support is also fine in my experience. A while back i bought a screen online, turned out it was curved. Took it to the store, a day after the return window had ended(!) and they took it without complaint, even as i had already opened the box. Dude even found me another one without the curve they had in stock with the same technical specs, only cost me the 10€ price difference. Fuck online shopping at this point lol

Personally i think we definitely need some more euro-“patriotism” propagated by the normal parties. It would strengthen the union, help foster a healthier sense of commonality with the other europeans, and most importantly provide an alternative “outlet” for these nationalistic impulses that are being promoted by external enemies.

That is of course not to endorse nationalism, but Europe is under threat from hostile foreign actors and really needs some unity and awareness in the population of what is happening.

Thats the whole point. They are so immensely rich, they could fix most of the world’s and its people’s problems fairly quickly, and still be rich enough to continue to live in unbridled luxury and splendor, while the population would be mostly happy and content with the system. But apparently money is addictive and so they would rather ruin the world and societies by promoting a shift into fascism than give up even a sliver.

So the president felt more responsibility to his nation than to the slaves, at a time where slavery was much less frowned upon than today. I have a hard time retroactively faulting him for that. If he did the right thing for the wrong reasons, is it not still the right thing to do?
