Keith Kupferschmid will succeed Sandra Aistars as CEO of the Copyright Alliance, the Washington-based public interest organization representing artists and creators.
Kupferschmid has been general counsel and senior vice president, intellectial property, at the Software and Information Industry Assn., where, among other things, he supervised the anti-piracy division. He also was an attorney at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunn, as well as at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the Copyright Office and the office of the U.S. Trade Representative.
Aistars has joined the faculty of the George Mason University School of Law as clinical professor and head of the school’s arts and entertainment advocacy program.
