My newest mlp oc !!!! I love him so much, he’s my special boy.
Technically I suppose he’s a nextgen? Son of Princess Celestia :3 his name is yet to be determined (cause I’m bad at names) BUT my current name selections and lore are under the cut! For now I call him Laurie.

Meet the Shy family!
A rather placid and tranquil family... save for Zephyr.
Ignore that there's the old Fluttershy design in the height chart, I'm too lazy to change it
Of course, if Fluttershy is half bat, that meant that one of her parents had to be a bat pony too, and I decided to go with Mrs. Shy! I just loved the idea of an old lady bat who looks inconspicuous but can be vicious when needed.
Mrs. Shy is also where Fluttershy gets her "scary eyes" from (they are essentially a bat thing), and her mother 100% used them on Discord the first time she met him. It had no effect on him, of course, but she found it interesting rather than upsetting.
Also, I looked online, and it seems like Mr. and Mrs. Shy have no official names, but people have generally agreed to call them Gentle Breeze and Posey Shy, respectively, which are perfect. It also implies that Gentle Breese took Posey's last name instead of the reverse, which I love even more!
And if Fluttershy is half bat, that meant her brother had to be too, and I am really trying my best not to redraw him because I hate the way I drew the wings now.
I don't know much about Zephyr outside the fact that he's an ass, and I think I don't need to know more, honestly.

I imagine Laurie was a pretty leggy child. His mane was longer for a bit and ! For fun! He is quite sensitive to bright lights (another reason he would come to enjoy his aunt Luna’s company when she gets released from moon-imprisonment). While all of Luna’s moonlight is mild enough for his eyes, he would often find himself squinting painfully at his mother’s early mornings.
