LMA thesis receives St Albert the Great award
As part of the celebrations for the feast of Saint Albert the Great, the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Alicante recognised outstanding researchers in its 32nd edition of the Best Doctoral Thesis Award.
Juan José Villora Picó (Juanjo), now a doctor, won the award for the second best doctoral thesis with his work entitled ‘Doped carbons for adsorption and catalysis applications’. This project, directed by professors Antonio Sepúlveda Escribano and María Mercedes Pastor Blas, explores the use of carbons doped with nitrogen and sulphur for industrial applications, such as the hydrogenation of anilines and the adsorption of volatile compounds.
These awards, organised by the Alicante Territorial Section of the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry (RSEQ), highlight excellence in research and the impact of doctoral theses in the field of chemistry.
