Andrew Ng
Chairman of the Board and Co-Founder of Coursera
Andrew Ng co-founded Coursera in 2012 with Daphne Koller and served as Co-CEO until 2014. He currently serves as Chairman of the Coursera Board and is a leading voice in artificial intelligence (AI) and online education. Dr. Ng was the founding lead of the Google Brain deep learning project and later served as Chief Scientist at Baidu, where he led the company’s global AI strategy and infrastructure. He is also an adjunct professor at Stanford University, where he has taught in the computer science department for over two decades. In 2011, Dr. Ng led the development of Stanford’s first Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) platform and launched an online machine learning class that reached over 100,000 students—an initiative that inspired the creation of Coursera. He is the Managing General Partner of AI Fund, a venture studio supporting entrepreneurs in building AI companies, and leads DeepLearning.AI, an education technology company focused on AI training. In 2024, he joined Amazon’s Board of Directors. Dr. Ng has authored or co-authored over 200 research papers in machine learning, robotics, and related fields. In 2013, he was named to the Time 100 list of the world’s most influential people. He holds degrees from Carnegie Mellon University, MIT, and the University of California, Berkeley.

Greg Hart
Chief Executive Officer and President
Greg Hart joined Coursera as President and CEO, and a member of the Board in February 2025, bringing over 25 years of leadership in technology-driven innovation and operational excellence. At Amazon, where he spent 23 years, Greg served as Technical Advisor to Jeff Bezos and led the development of Amazon Alexa/Echo from inception to launch and beyond, establishing it as a pioneering AI product that has been distributed on over 100 million devices. He also oversaw Prime Video’s global expansion, leading its foray into live sports and implementing live streaming technology on the platform. From 2020 to 2023, Greg was a key leader at Compass, the leading real estate brokerage in the US. He first served as Chief Product Officer and later as Chief Operating Officer, helping the company go public and leading the development of its industry-leading technology platform. In December 2024, he joined the Bose Corporation Board. Greg holds a Bachelor of Arts from Williams College and is an inventor or co-inventor on 71 US patents.
Marni Baker Stein
Chief Content Officer
Marni Baker Stein is Coursera’s Chief Content Officer, where she oversees the company’s content and credential strategy and partner relationships. Marni has more than 25 years of experience in producing and scaling online and hybrid education programs. Prior to joining Coursera, she was Chief Academic Officer and Provost at Western Governors University, where she led its four colleges serving more than 135,000 students with programs that improved access and affordability without compromising academic quality. Before that, Marni held several leadership positions focused on access, student success, and program design at institutions such as the University of Texas System, Columbia University, and the University of Pennsylvania. She earned her PhD in Educational Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania.
Patrick Supanc
Chief Product Officer
Patrick Supanc joined Coursera as Chief Product Officer in June 2025, bringing over two decades of global leadership experience at the intersection of education, technology, and commerce. In this role, he leads Coursera’s global product strategy and development of innovative learning experiences to enable millions of learners and thousands of enterprise customers worldwide. Prior to Coursera, Patrick was a senior product executive and general manager at Amazon, where he led initiatives including subscription growth and benefit engagement for Prime in the U.S., the global execution of Prime Day and Black Friday, and the expansion of Amazon Hub’s pickup and return network to a dozen countries, attracting millions of new customers. He also led Higher Education products for Kindle, enhancing digital learning experiences for college and adult learners. Before Amazon, Patrick was a senior executive at Pearson, where he spearheaded adaptive learning solutions and launched the company’s first AI-powered learning app for college-aspiring students. He has also held leadership roles at Blackboard and served as an education specialist at the World Bank. Patrick holds degrees in public policy and international affairs from Princeton and Harvard and was a Fulbright Scholar in Chile.
Anthony Salcito
General Manager, Enterprise
Anthony Salcito joined Coursera as General Manager, Enterprise in October 2025, bringing decades of experience in global education leadership and technology-driven innovation. In this role, he leads Coursera’s Enterprise business—partnering with companies, campuses, and governments worldwide to help employees, students, and citizens gain critical, job-relevant skills to succeed in a rapidly changing world. Prior to Coursera, Anthony served as Chief Institution Business Officer at Nerdy (Varsity Tutors), where he worked with institutions and educators to deliver tutoring, test prep, and enrichment solutions that drive student outcomes. He previously spent more than two decades at Microsoft as Vice President of Worldwide Education, where he pioneered global initiatives, including Live@EDU (Office 365), Partners in Learning, the Microsoft Innovative Educator program, and Showcase Schools. Anthony has also served on the boards of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Western Governors University, and Teach.org, and currently co-chairs the board of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship.
Mustafa Furniturewala
Chief Technology Officer
Mustafa Furniturewala is the Chief Technology Officer at Coursera. With oversight of infrastructure and information technology teams, he ensures the Coursera platform operates at scale while driving innovation and efficiency in learning technology. Prior to joining Coursera in 2014, Mustafa held various engineering roles at Twitter, Evernote, and Citrix Systems. He received his Master’s degree in Computer Science from Rochester Institute of Technology and earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Savitribai Phule Pune University in India.
Tim Hannan
Chief Marketing Officer
Tim Hannan is the Chief Marketing Officer at Coursera. With over 15 years of leadership experience at top consumer and enterprise marketplaces, Tim brings expertise in growing and scaling brands to Coursera. During his nearly five years at eHealth, Tim served as Chief Marketing Officer and, most recently, Chief Revenue Officer. He oversaw and optimized departments, built industry-leading digital marketing capabilities, and created a more dynamic, rapidly growing business. Previously, Tim was CMO of Ibotta, Inc., one of the nation’s top shopping apps, and held leadership positions at Trip.com, Orbitz Worldwide, and Expedia. He earned his undergraduate degree in quantitative economics and finance from Providence College and an MBA from London Business School.
Grant Parsamyan
Chief Data Officer
Grant Parsamyan joined Coursera as Chief Data Officer in July 2025, bringing over two decades of experience building large-scale data platforms and leading data-driven transformations. In this role, he oversees Coursera’s global data strategy, including data engineering, analytics, infrastructure, and governance — ensuring insights, privacy, and technology are aligned to support innovations and learner success. Before Coursera, Grant served as Chief Data Officer & Information Officer at Alludo, where he led digital transformation across Data Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, Analytics, and Cybersecurity. Prior to that, he spent nearly a decade at OpenTable as Senior Vice President of Data Science & Analytics, where he built and scaled the enterprise data organization and championed a data-first culture through investments in architecture, machine learning, and analytics. His earlier leadership roles include positions at eHarmony and Yahoo. Grant holds a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Information Systems from the University of Southern California. He lives in Los Angeles with his family.
Marcelo Modica
Chief People Officer
Marcelo Modica is Coursera’s Chief People Officer, responsible for leading our global strategy and initiatives to foster a high-performing and inclusive workplace. Marcelo has over 30 years of experience building people-centric organizations across global technology, consulting, and finance industries. Before joining Coursera, he served as Chief People Officer at OneTrust, Robinhood, and Mercer. His career has also included key leadership positions at JPMorgan Chase, Discover Financial Services, Morgan Stanley, and Prudential Securities. Marcelo holds a master’s degree in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Siena College.
Alan Cardenas
General Counsel and Secretary
Alan Cardenas is General Counsel and Secretary at Coursera, overseeing the leadership and day-to-day operations of the global legal function. Before joining Coursera as Deputy General Counsel in 2021, Alan spent more than 13 years at Siemens, including its spinoff Siemens Energy. During his tenure, Alan held various leadership positions within the legal department, notably serving as the head U.S. lawyer for all corporate legal functions for Siemens Energy. He started his career at Debevoise & Plimpton and Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath. Alan holds a J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law and a B.A. in history and political science from Rutgers University.
Mike Foley
Chief Financial Officer
Mike Foley joined Coursera as interim Chief Financial Officer in November 2025, bringing more than two decades of experience in financial and operational leadership across global technology and media companies. In this role, he oversees Coursera’s finance organization, including accounting, corporate development, FP&A, treasury, investor relations, internal audit, and tax. Before joining Coursera, Mike served as a Strategic Adviser to AI and technology companies at New Enterprise Associates. Prior to that, he was Head of Finance for Emerging Technology at Google, overseeing the gaming, AR/VR, and wearables product lines. Mike served as CFO of Unity Technologies for four years, helping to scale the company through a period of rapid growth from $70 million to $450 million in revenue prior to going public. He also has deep expertise in M&A and strategy, having led Corporate Development and Strategic Planning as SVP at Electronic Arts for seven years and as Director of Corporate Development at Microsoft. Mike holds a Master of Science from the University of Cambridge, an MBA from Harvard Business School, and an Honorary Doctorate in Engineering from Glasgow Caledonian University.
