Emu hit by car

Shocking footage has emerged from Australia of an emu being hit by a car.

The dashcam video, filmed in September in Victoria, shows the large bird suddenly appear in front of the car before being clattered.

Amazingly, it gets up and appears to run off.

"I tried to brake but couldn't stop before colliding with the Emu," the filmer wrote online.

"I stopped and went to check on the Emu but it had already run away."
