00:00Hey friends, today we're going to draw a cake.

00:02Yeah, we're going to draw a birthday cake.

00:03You got your marker?

00:04We hope you're going to follow along with us.

00:06You have something to draw with and some paper.

00:09You ready to start?

00:09Yeah.

00:10Okay.

00:10Before we start, Hads, let's tell our parents and teachers

00:12about our How to Draw Funny Food e-book.

00:15Okay.

00:16Okay, so when we drew the taco, the funny taco with Austin,

00:20we also talked about the e-book.

00:22It's got all of our funny food lessons in it.

00:24So some of these we've already done and some of them we haven't.

00:27Today we're going to be drawing the How to Draw a Birthday Cake.

00:31Yes.

00:32So we're just going to follow these steps when we do the lesson.

00:36Sound like fun?

00:36Yeah.

00:37All right.

00:48Let's start.

00:49First step, Hads, we're going to draw the side of our birthday cake.

00:52So we're going to draw two lines down

00:53and this is going to tell us how wide our birthday cake is.

00:56So we're going to draw one line down like this

00:58and one line down like that.

01:02And I drew them right in the middle of our paper.

01:04Okay.

01:05Right here?

01:05Yes.

01:07That's a good spot.

01:09Nice.

01:10And then, yeah, that's a good spot too.

01:13Perfect.

01:15Now, if you want, you could draw it a little bit taller

01:17and that would make your cake a little taller also.

01:20I'm going to do that so my cake's taller.

01:23Yes.

01:24Okay, now let's show the frosting that's on top.

01:27So we're going to draw a cloud line.

01:29It's really bumpy.

01:30So we're going to draw a cloud,

01:33a bunch of U's connected to each other

01:35to make that cloud line.

01:37Okay.

01:37So we're going to do one on the top

01:38and we're also going to do one on the bottom.

01:43So we're going to do that same line

01:44except upside down like this.

01:47Perfect.

01:53Oh, that's really, I like it.

01:56That's a lot of frosting.

01:57It's going to be a good cake.

01:59Yeah.

01:59Okay.

02:00Now we're going to draw the top of the frosting up here.

02:02So we're going to draw

02:03it upside down,

02:06but connect it on each side.

02:08There's the top frosting.

02:11I don't want frosting.

02:14And then we're going to do the same thing down here.

02:16We're going to connect it,

02:18draw another cloud line.

02:19It looks like a really long, skinny cloud, doesn't it?

02:22Okay.

02:23What do birthday cakes always have on the top?

02:25A candle.

02:26Yeah, they have candles.

02:27So I'm going to draw two lines

02:28next to each other.

02:30I'm one.

02:31And then connect it at the top.

02:36Yes.

02:36And then I'm going to draw another one.

02:39We're going to draw four,

02:41but if you want,

02:42you could add as many candles as you want.

02:45Can I do seven?

02:46Oh, that's how old you are.

02:47Yeah.

02:48Yeah, sure.

02:49You can draw seven.

02:50A skinny one right there.

02:53Make sure you count.

02:55So there's three.

02:56Three.

02:58Four.

03:00Five.

03:02Six.

03:05Seven.

03:06You did it.

03:07You're seven years old.

03:09Yeah.

03:09This cake is for you.

03:11Okay, now we're going to draw the wicks on top.

03:13And that's just the little string

03:15that sticks out of the top of the candle

03:16that you can light on fire.

03:19Is that the candle?

03:20Yeah, that's the candle.

03:21But we're going to add a little fire on the top also.

03:25Okay, so we're going to draw

03:26little raindrop shapes on top of that.

03:29Oh, that's a huge raindrop.

03:36Looks more like a hot dog.

03:38All right, you did it.

03:43You got all seven candles lit.

03:45Except that one's a hot dog.

03:47Yeah.

03:48Our cake needs to sit on something.

03:50Should we put it on a plate?

03:51Yeah.

03:51Okay, we're going to start right here

03:53and we're going to draw a circle that comes around.

03:55Well, it's more like an oval.

03:56Comes around and then connects to the other side.

04:03Mine's a bumpy plate.

04:04That's okay.

04:05Okay, should we add a balloon to our cake?

04:07Yes.

04:07Okay, up here at the top.

04:09I'm going to just draw a heart-shaped balloon.

04:11But you could draw a round balloon.

04:13You could draw any shape balloon.

04:15Good.

04:24Okay, now we're going to draw the bottom of our balloon.

04:26So we're going to draw a little W at the bottom.

04:31W.

04:31And then we're going to draw a straight line

04:33for the string to connect it to the cake.

04:35I like it.

04:39Okay, what's our cake missing?

04:41The eyes.

04:42Yeah, it's missing the funny face, huh?

04:43Okay, so let's draw two circles.

04:46I'm going to draw one over here

04:47and one on this side.

04:52And if you want, you could leave the funny face off

04:54if you just want to draw a cake.

04:55But we've got to make it look funny.

04:57So we're going to draw smaller circles

04:59in the top right of our eyes.

05:02And we're going to draw even smaller circles

05:04down the bottom left.

05:07And then let's color in the big circles.

05:09Okay.

05:09Hads, should we give her eyelashes?

05:14Mm-hmm.

05:15Okay.

05:16Are we going to give her two little eyelashes

05:17on each side of her eye?

05:20And then let's give her a happy face.

05:22So I'm going to draw a little smile in between.

05:28And then I'm also going to give her chubby cheeks.

05:31Oh, I like it.

05:36Her mouth's open.

05:38All right, Hads, we did it.

05:39Should we put our markers off to the side?

05:41Yeah.

05:41And what should we do next?

05:42Color her.

05:43Yeah.

05:44She's going to look way cooler once we color her.

05:46You ready to fast forward?

05:47Yeah.

05:47All right, let's do it right now.

05:49All right, Hads, we finished coloring our cakes

05:59and we even added some extra hearts.

06:02Did you have fun?

06:03Yeah.

06:03You promised?

06:04Yes.

06:04Now, you guys at home can pause the video

06:06to match the coloring

06:06or you could color your birthday cakes

06:08any way you want, really.

06:10Yeah.

06:10Ours is vanilla,

06:11but you could color it chocolate

06:12or maybe even blueberry cake.

06:15This is a fun drawing to do for your friend

06:17if they're having a birthday.

06:18You could make them your own birthday card.

06:20Yes.
